I have a small triangle with a black exclamation point in it above my MPG dash displa

On the digital display between the tach and speedo,...I have a tiny red triangle with a black exclamation point in the middle. It's just above the "M" in "MPG". Can anyone tell me what this is?

Go into iDrive or the scroll toggle on your turn signal and press the stalk in when you see it say "Check Control" and it will tell you what it means. If you're checking through iDrive its under Menu -> Vehicle Status -> Check Control. It could be anything.

Shit Idk if its the same for '06 330i's.

The answer is in the glove compartment or in your trunk. Last I heard, some people call it an owner's manual.

I think it may be BMW's troll alert, but not 100% sure. Check to see if it's also showing up in your Land Rover and Benz. Report back.

You so funny!

I was going to say the exact thing this morning. Only 3 posts and all 3 have been borderline trollish. I'm just on stand by waiting for his next, epic thread.

ZURICH posted a PDF that explains what the symbols mean http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=611567

Yours is on page 19 and means:
Quote:
Service Due. Unable to inform your BMW Service automatically. Contact your BMW Service
I think a red triangle is a bit dramatic for this type of notification...

According to my searches it indicates that the sensors have detected a loose nut behind the wheel. I wouldn't recommend driving it. I have seen this before and it can lead to serious injury or worse.

JK, in all seriousness, it is most likely just letting you know that you have a service that is due. If you have the owners manual you can find the section that deals with this and it will walk you through the process of determining which service it is. If you do not have the owners manual you can go to the official BMW site and download the owners manual for your car and do the same.

This little triangle comes up for whatever slight reason that something needs your attention. It comes on for issues low on gas, tire pressure low, light bulb out, speed limit exceeded etc... You still need to read the manual though.
