Dead Battery?

Anyone have experience with this? My car went from running fine and no hint of battery problems last night to not starting this morning. It is clicking when I try to start it so attempted a jump, but no luck. The interior lights and dash lights come on normally just won't start.

Just tried jumping again, still no luck. This time I left the cable hooked up for appx 5-6 min before trying to start. Only thing that happens is a faint click click, not turning over at all. Also the lights aren't working even though I have the cables hooked up to a brand new running car??!!??

Any help appreciated
Thanks
Todd

Garage List
original battery? I just had this issue. But I hooked it up to an external battery and let it charge overnight. Then it worked. I think I'm due for a new battery now.

It usually doesn't just happen overnight unless there was a leak from a device or mod you added. Let it charge for a bit more and try again.

So after 2 days of trying to charge and jump my car to no avail, the tow arrives to tow it and the mechanic disconnects the battery for appx 1min then hooks back up and car accepts the jump start no problem. Battery is definitely dead, but alternator putting out 14.2 volts to keep it running long enough to drive to shop.
I get 5 min from home and get an overheat warning (caution drive slow etc) which quickly turns to a red warning. Engine won't go about 1-1.5 RPM and I limp back to my street where it dies 8 houses from mine. Tow truck comes back out and takes it to my mechanic who is replacing battery and diagnosing other issues!
Sure wish I had thought to disconnect battery to reset computer etc then trying a charge or jump!

What a bummer. Get out your wallet for the new problem, your water pump is dead and they aren't cheap.

Water pump and battery at an Indy? You're gonna need about $850-900.
