How much should I pay for a 2011 CPO 335IS?
Trying to find a 2011 335IS with the following:
Certified with less than 40k miles Gray or Silver with Black or Red interior 6spd Manual Premium Navigation Harmon Kardon I would love to find it for $35,000 or less. Do you think it's doable? I'm not in a rush. Checking cars.com every couple days to see if I can find one. I'd like to get about $14,000 trade in for my loaded 2007 335i Coupe with 97k miles. What would be a good price for the 335IS I'm looking for and trade in on my car? Last edited by MikesBMW; 05-24-2014 at 09:25 PM.. |

Completely doable imo. If you're not in a rush, for $35k you can get a decently equipped 335is with about 30-40k miles.
Take your time and look around, you'll find something. Also try Autotrader in conjunction with Cars.com. I don't know the specifics of your trade in, but trade in value for the average 2007 335i with your specified mileage is closer to $12k. |

Definitely do-able, but not easy. You may have to wait. I got a good offer on a 2011 CPO w/27k miles, $36,950. I checked around, it was a decent price (I inquired about 5 cars, it was the best deal for that mileage) no NAV though. Every other car was $38K or more, and no room for negotiation. Figure adding 1K for Nav, as the sell better.
I also got an offer for $37,900 on a low mileage 19k 2011 CPO, also no NAV. Before I could respond, it sold at that price. This time of year is tough. If you search in the fall, you will definitely score one for $35k. This time of year; perhaps if you get lucky. I searched for a good month, only saw two, and both had been in a wreck. Even if dealers are sitting on them for awhile, at this point, they are going to be optimistic that the cars will sell (due to it being May, and not October) and hold their line on pricing, for the most part. It is tough; the car you are describing wholesales at $34k. Attaching a $2500 CPO, detail, new tires, selling costs, pushes the price up pretty quick. Especially when it is the time of year people are looking for a car like that. Also, not strictly related, but if you haven't driven DCT, do so. I was going to get a 6MT on my 335is, but when I drove a DCT model, it shocked me how much I loved it. The engine and tranny mate very well. At least give it a test spin if you can; you may find you prefer it. Another route: find a non-BMW dealer selling one, maybe it has has 2 owners and has a CPO attached. You will definitely be sub $35k if that is the case. Quote:

FWIW, they had a pretty low-optioned 335is, 2012, 15k miles and cherry condition, it sold for $41k, and that was in the dead of winter. If you make that car a 2011 and add another 15k miles, it sells for $37,500. The 335is carries a premium, but it needs the right buyer. If you find one from a dealer that needs to move it, you can get a great price. If the dealer knows they have something that a buyer will pay a premium for, then probably not. I certainly would pay an extra $3k for a 335is. It is easily worth that. |

It would be tough to get that trade in value. I had a 2007 e92, fully loaded, 64xxx, not a scratch on the car and all the trade in quotes I got were right around $14,000.
Good luck though !!! |

True, every time I come across a 335IS at a stellar price, turns out it doesn't have iDrive/Navi. The dash looks so barren to me without it. Plus it's not just navigation, its visualizing all the other electronic and customizable features with the screen. Love having all of that to look at and play with.

In September I picked up my 2011 E93 is, AW/CR loaded with iDriv/Nav, DCT, 19 in 313s, Harmon Kardon, etc with 27K miles for 39,500. It is not CPO and was the original owner older guy and Wife that did not abuse it. I bought his lease out as he was leaving the Country. It has some normal paint nicks for wear and tear but overall in very good condition.
I always thought I paid to much and probably should have waited for the 4's to come out as it would no doubt drop in price. I am still seeing them in that price range but I was looking for a vert. I did put offers on about 3 others and they would not accept my offers and sold for askingprice and they were all over 40K. So I bit the bullet and bough the original adult owned one. I do not regret it but would have been nice to get CPO as the warranty is up in about 3 months. I am hitting them up for everyhitng I can think of they needs to be done. If you are looking for a coupe I would think you could get one in the 36 range. Good Luck you will love it. Mark

Try Kelly Blue Books to see how much the 335is will cost with the options you want and to see how much you can possibly get for a trade in. The price you are looking at might be doable for cars with over 45k miles or possibly in an accident. Anyways good luck with the search.

Well the 335is is a piece of shit car. No one buys BMWs anymore. They're really worth next to nothing at this point. Considering all the recalls (wiper malfunction, door handle malfunction, etc), with your trade, you should expect to pay -$6799. They should pay you with a check or some sort of credit.
Enjoy.
