Please before commenting. Three pages of people bashing me because I saw a 3 series being used as a dominos delivery car is misconstruing the message of my thread.

***This is simply in reference to what happens to every car when the new model is released. I also own a 328 and love it as my DD so don't get it twisted. Same thing happened to E46's when the E90 came along for the first few years until people couldn't afford the maintenance and had to drop them.***

As I'm headed out of the estate this morning I see an e90 ahead of me. I speed up to see WTF is on it's roof without a roof box. As I close in on it, it's a Dominos Pizza car with their delivery logo box on the roof.

Now I am at a crossroads as the e9x is the "Throwback" 3 series is it time for us to dump them and move onto the F3x platform? Because they're about to go through their "Cheap as hell to buy and ricer boy" stage.

My personal reason of keeping my e90 even though I can afford other cars of my choosing but it's engine reliability, no turbo (I just like NA motors), overall quality, and ease of modifications to personalize it.

I drive it 150-300 miles a day (Business owner/Property management) and I don't mind 20 mpg because I refuse to drive JDM cars. But for a fun daily driver the F30 loaner I had did not cut the cake as I could have upgraded while there for an oil change it did not give me that feeling my E90 gives me when I start her up.

I understand your rant, however, perhaps this is a person that needs to do this to make extra $$$. Single parent, student or whatever. I think its cool that this guy/girl is using his BMW to be a contributing member of society, no matter what job they are doing. Perhaps he is a boy-girl wannabe ricer? I don't know.

At least he's not like some of the "kids," up here where all that needs to be done is call mommy and daddy overseas and a cheque(I am Canadian, lol) is in the mail for a Ferrari Italia with money to spare for insurance and gas for a year. It is very common to see 16, 17, 18 year old, "students," driving high priced premier vehicles (i.e. P-Cars, Ferrari's, Bentleys and yes even RR's) here. Even better, I have heard these same kids say, "owning M3 now-days like owning Civic. So, "I," buy GT3." Fvcking sad true story.

That's my rant.

And to answer your question, I think if you are happy with the E9x then keep it.

Delivering pizza in the morning? Obviously it's the manager/chief delivery driver. Don't be mad.

Meh, I'm one of those people who can only afford a BMW because it's 8 years old and has 100,000 miles on it, I'll keep my mouth shut.

I understand your point, but it's the same way with E46's. Anybody can own one, but then you see one that is still in great condition and modded tastefully and it changes everything. As long as you like your car and keep it looking nice who cares who else drives the same model.

Probably one of the most pompous posts I've seen on this forum to date. "I was heading out of the estate this morning" and "I can afford other cars of my choosing." This isn't the Rolls Royce forum, so if you want to refer to your house as "the estate" and contemplate dumping your car because pizza delivery guys can afford an E90 328i, I don't think this is the place to be. Drive what you want and don't worry about how the pizza dude can afford a base model used 3 series. It's 2014 now, 2006/7/8 325/28i's are very affordable. This is why my friends give me shit for having a BMW... This is the sterotype non BMW drivers have of us.

The stereotypes for BMW drivers are much better than Porsche drivers. "A Porsche is kind of like a cactus, but the pricks are inside." (I only joke to those who own them )

BMWs and other mainstream luxury brands are nothing special these days. You can get the brand for easily sub$300/mo zero down leases a plenty. If you buy a car for the brand, well you'll have these types of "intriguing" questions when you see a pizza delivery guy driving your brand. I helped the girlfriend get the new Lexus is250 for a ridiculously low lease. When people drive by and see her, they probably must think she's 16(she's Asian and small so she does look 16 to some Caucasians). I wonder if other IS drivers think if its time to get a GS instead BC some "teenager" is driving the IS. In reality she's a doctor....

If you have enjoy driving the car or enjoy the design, these thoughts wouldn't even come up.

Personally, I drive the car that I enjoy driving, not BC of what others think.

The only time I'd consider getting a different car BC of what others might think is if I were driving a boy racer car that would negatively impact my profession. For example, I strongly considered the BRZ but as a professional that met with clients, the car's boy racer looks and harsh ride would be quite the put off.
