Glove Compartment won't unlock

Suddenly, my glove compartment on my 2007 E93 will not unlock when the car is unlocked. It is supposed to lock when the car is locked, and unlock when the car is unlocked. Now I have use the physical key that is hidden inside the remote. It seems like it is most likely software, but I cannot find anything in the shop manual or any BMW manuals that gives a clue as to what to do. Has this happened to anyone else?

Maybe you flipped the valet switch inside the glove box?
Open the box and flip it back to unlock symbol
