Dealer blames Air Intake?

I have a 2011 BMW 335xi N55 with BMS Intake. After getting in my car after work the idle would jump around and stall. Try to put it in gear and it stalls. Check all connections, unplugged the battery etc no luck. Got a call from the dealership saying that the oil from the intake damage multiple sensors, O2 Sensors and possibly fuel pump. What are the chances that actually happens?

*****************UPDATE********************
Just an update for those who care. So they replaced the MAF Sensor / Hot Film Mass Air Meter. From the day I got the car (CPO) the car has never run this smooth. Stock or not. They replaced coils, injectors, plugs etc in the past but this was the biggest improvement. Although they did bend the pleats on the BMS Intake and forgot to change the CP they broke the way the car runs now amazes me. I thought the change from a new F10 535xi to a CPO 335xi (less luxury / more sporty) the slight vibrations from the car, shift knob and steering wheel was normal. But now I know how it should feel! Going to get an OCC / Walnut Blasting soon.

It's possibel but that means you would have literally had recharge oil dripping off your cones. Had you recharged them recently? Either way cleaning the oil off the sensors is easy. Don't know how much truth there is to the fuel pump though.

They were recharged about 2K miles ago. Not dripping almost dry / slightly slick to the touch.

Yeah only way would be if you just cleaned them with the K&N recharge kit or something. otherwise I use dry filters so not sure how that would work.

Any recommendations of a dry filter that will increase the spooling sound as the BMS intake does?

Seems kinda unlikely to be the culprit. So was this an initial diagnosis? Or did they fix it already?

Its still there. They wanted me to pay $1017 + tax for fuel system treatment and walnut blasting which I refused because I can get it done cheaper. I asked if they can swap sensors / fuel pump under warranty etc and I'll take it as is. Might re-clean the filter and apply less oil. Then install OCC N55 and get it walnut blasted.

It sounds like they're using a flamethrower to light a match. Just sounds crazy it did all that damage since everyone and their mom use those DCI.

Funny thing is I told them the fuel pump was going bad on my last visit and they said they couldn't find anything. Also one of their techs broke my charge pipe clip and tried putting epoxy on it and I pointed it out. Now I'm stuck on figuring what to do when they fix as much under warranty.

I would be pisssed about the CP. Yeah, since you have some coverage/protection with the warrantly you're lucky. Just hope they're a competent bunch.

Honestly the SA was nice enough to change it.

the filter oil came thru the intake and head, into the cylinder, then managed to somehow work its way into the high pressure injector and fight backwards thru the 11ty billion psi fuel rail and eat away at the pump

makes total sense

How would they assume fuel pump with no codes, CEL etc? There is little oil on that intake. How can it possible do some much damage?

because they have no idea, and that's the easy out

which is why people either don't mod under warranty, or take it off before they bring the car in. just not worth the risk of dealing with this shit, denying claims, etc etc

SA was fine with it before. Another SA ask if I had DPs to remove it first. But all I have is the intake.

I have to agree with the previous posters... doesn't seem like the intake would be responsible for half those issues. Esp (IMHO) the fuel pump.

Out of curiosity... what dealership did you take this to?

I don't want the give the dealership a bad name due to this issue because they're usually great. Although recently their techs are either lazy / idiots.
