Order Accepted in Southern CA !

What a great week, so i had posted earlier this week that my SA at my dealer had called to say that they would get allocations 1st week of december...

He called today, and said that of the 4 that were ahead of me 3 wanted to wait for pricing, and 1 was going to wait for e93... So that led to me !

After debating for 10 mins, I decided to say the heck with it ! just order ! So i took the first car from his dealer.. He said I could expect delivery 60days from now, so I could expect early February ! Got a faxed special order as well as Vehicle Inquiry Report that gave me a production number !! What a surprisingly great friday. was very hesistant at first due to the lack of knowledge of pricing... but I'm just hoping BMW doesn't do us future e92 me owners dirty by overpricing the vehicle.

Here's what I came up with:

300 Alpine White
NCH2 Fox Red Novillo Leather
ZPP Premium Package which includes 4MY Carbon Leather Interior Trim
ZTP Technology Package
2MT 19" rims
6FL IPOD

CALL THOSE DEALERS IF YOU HAVEN'T HEARD ANYTHING RECENTLY ! GOOD LUCK and I'll keep everyone posted as more info comes my way

We're rolling - You have a production number. An excellent sign. I can barely believe you will be seeing your car in Feb. Congrats. That should also mean demos to dealers at least in Jan, maybe very late in 2007 as well!

Sure wish I could live with a 6MT... Anyone else in the M-DCT club want to whine with me and console me

Good to hear. Tis BS BMW is allowing ordering without prices.

6mt REPRESENT!!!

Ohh yeah, still nothing from my dealer. Has never called me since I put the deposit down early this year. No calls checking in or to say the list has changed.
Never even sent me the option list. Not getting a real good vibe from them.
What do you bet I am going to have to contact them...

I got a call from my dealer for their first allocation and as hard as it was, I had to decline as I want to wait for M-DCT.

All the rumors suggest that the DCT will be available in March, why won't they just admit it and stop this mind game of torment!

Dab. congrats on your confirmation though. You lucky sob

If I were you (6MT club member with deposit down), I'd be all over the dealer by now. Good luck!

+10, I'd be on them like a bad suit. What was the spot # in line you obtained? Perhaps they are simply working their way down their list in order. If you are <= spot #5 or so get cracking!

All I was ever assured was that as soon as they got something they would send it to me. Apparently from the other post, the guy in CA, they had the info over a month ago and never called or sent me anything. They could have sent out the options list, no harm in that. They never sent anything and I have never heard from them.
Also, I was #8. No way everyone on the list before me ended up buying one. Some people always pull out for a myriad of reasons.

Who are you dealing with at Newbold? Talk to Neil Westfall, he's the BMW sales manager there. I've had nothing but extremely positive experiences with him. Also, he said the other people behind me (probably through #3) have placed orders on the car, so they're not shortchanging you in any way. Give Neil a call though, he's a trustworthy guy and tell him Eric recommended talking to him.

I know Neil, The guy I had been talking to was Tim. Still, they could have sent out the M3 information they had to everyone, especially a local guy like me.

I would tell him you recommended me, but he might think I am crazy recommending myself. (my name is Eric)

6MT FTL! The M-DCT is the only option that makes the car actually faster. Who would want such rubbish in a sports car? Time to join the 21st century and abandon tranmissions that are almost a decade old. JMHO .

Ultimate/Fifth: Do we have more requests to join the M-DCT club? I think it is just me and lucid so far (officially).

Did he say rubbish? Oh, he did.
Strange thing is that about 428 DCT simulations couldn't convince me that it's more fun than MT.

I feel it coming: Someday we need a non-aggression pact.

Best regards, south

However, you sadly fail to realize that we will be getting to work .46892 seconds earlier everyday, which means, over the next 20 years, we will be .46892 (sec/day) x 200 (days/year) x 20 (years) = 1875.68 seconds more productive. That will get me the several promotions, double my salary, and triple the number of cars in my garage.

Whatever you have to tell yourself.
You forgot to factor in the lost joy from those 20 years that will accumulate from the lack of involvement in your daily drive.
Numbers can't measure that emptiness.

My life is pretty empty as it is, so the lack of 6MT can't make it any emptier. However, as I demonstrated above, DCT will double my salary, which will enable me to buy a Ferrari to try to fill the void in 5 years when I'm 41 and truly in mid-life crisis. Needless to say, the Ferrari will also be automanual. I mean, who drives stick these days?
