iDrive question

Scenario - USB drive is connected to console port. I select and play an album/song via the Browse Directory... drill down approach.
After turning the car off and returning and starting back up, the album/song is playing but iDrive reverts back to top level and I have to drill back down to the song to display it. I don't like to use Current Play because then I cannot drill back up to the previous level I had selected.

How do I get iDrive to return to the song playing but maintain at the same time, the drill down path I had taken previously?

Thanks. Hope this makes sense.

Hm, I don't use a flash drive but I use an ipod connected with the y-cable. When I return to the car, the song I was listening to continues to play. At first I thought the current playing feature didn't work because it was only show the one song that is playing at the moment but if you give it a minute or so, it actually shows the entire playlist you're listening to and even resumes at the spot you scrolled to. Not sure if the usb drive acts the same way but I hope that helped.

it instantly plays back last song but for menus to update to current track can take forever, menus to get playlists wake up in what feels like 10 mins but is probably quicker, showing correct song takes much longer 15 to 20 minutes

I just discarded mine for this very reason, was a 64 gig stick with 55 gig of wav files, playlist work a treat when the finally become available, goodness knows how, just make text files of the songs and rename file extension and it plays from any folders on the stick

now running 160gig ipod, with the SAME 55 gig of wav files (and as its not an iPhone you can actually see it like a usb stick and see it really is .wav files !!!) menus alive in 8 seconds, correct track within 10 seconds, and genre works !!!! as do all the others, far better idea than a stick
