Black e93 m sport 320i 2007
Hi guys I have the above car and I was wondering what suttle mods I can do.
I am getting a black set of gloss kidney grills from another member in the coming weeks. I've had my wheels painted anthracite. Going to get some hids as well. I've also seen carbon fibre bmw badges on eBay what does everything think of these. Looking to get a oem performance exhaust however they aren't cheap new so if anyone had one I would be interested. Any other ideas without going too far away from the standard/ non chavvy look. Cheers |

Carbon badges look nice....for a while.
I had 2 sets on my e46 - both went discoloured after a 6 months or so. From different sellers on eBay as well - both assuring "top quality". Difficult to describe, but the silver bits started looking yellowy/tarnished, but I think it was the plastic probably reacting to the UV from sunlight. Either way, they looked ok from a distance, shit up close. It used to annoy me. Hence i had 2 sets in the space of 2 years! The only ones I'd seen that were any good that lasted were the ones CA Automotive used to sell. They don't sell them anymore though. We have a fella sponsoring our forum called "Fullhouse Customs" who I'd thought I'd give a go, as the rest of his stuff looks very good quality. Personally, I'd do more visually effective mods - such as binning the standard rims (I'm assuming you're running 18" MV3s?) in favour of something nicer. Then swapping the springs out for some Eibach Pro's which give a nice yet subtle drop on the stock M-Tech shocks. |

My car when I brought had some crappy after market wheel on unfortunately I asked then to change them and I ended up with another after market pair. They were new but unfortunately weren't oem. So as budget was tight I had them properly sprayed anthracite. I'll try get some pics up. And cheers about the badges I'll probably give them a miss then

Ah...yeah, those wheels are pretty grim, and that offset doesn't help their cause either. The rears would look a lot better with some spacers to push them out a little (and longer wheel bolts to suit) if changing them is not financially viable....which having just bought the car is understandable.
Here's mine: and the missus: Eibach pro will lower the car approximately 10-15mm on the front when full settled, and about 5-10mm on the rear. It's not the "slammed on it's arse" look of coilovers, but at £200 for the springs (which won't snap off end coils like OEM ones tend to have a habit of doing!) and giving a subtle drop, it's good for me. Handling isn't really improved much, as the OEM sport stuff is pretty good - if a little crashy on OEM rims with runflats....but you don't have that issue. The springs are very DIY-able, all you need are some spring compressors. I'm not sure if I did a write up for this....I'll have a look later. |

They're the 1M style. Got them from BMautosport.
I had a look, but I don't think I did a DIY. Sorry mate! I wrote it up when I did my e39, and my e46 - but not the e92 and e93! Doh! Here's the e46 and e39 ones, which may help as they're very similar. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B_j...it?usp=sharing And the e39... https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B_j...it?usp=sharing THe e9x is slightly different on the back, in as much as how the rear strut bolts to the rear arm - but when you see it, it's quite aparent how to undo it. The only other tricky bit on the front, is that you need to have the wheels turned full lock to be able to get the strut out form under the arch (once you've undone everything). From memory, it's full right lock to be able to coax the drivers side strut out, and full left for the passenger side. it jsut puts the hub a it's lowest point, which means you can shove down on the strut to ensure all 3 top mount bolts can get out from under the arch. Put a rug or something over the arch to protect the edge as well. |
