AARGH ! It makes me want to cry !

I was at a meeting at our local library earlier this week. As we were leaving, a 'friend' who was leaving just before me managed to reverse his car into the side of my beautiful 328i GT Luxury !

He has admitted responsibility (couldn't do anything else really), his insurers have admitted liability and I have at least 2 independent witnesses. I don't anticipate any problems but if any of you guys have any words of advice, or comfort, I'd appreciate it.

Sorry about the reflections, (Autoglym HD Wax) but you will hopefully make out the damage.

I think my 'friend' is more upset than I am, (no, that's not possible !), and has phoned a couple of times to see if I'm OK.
The car goes to the bodyshop on Tuesday and my 'like for like' replacement, whilst my car is being repaired, is to be a 3 Series touring, but it'll do.

I'm probably calming down a bit now, but it's just the damned inconvenience of it all and worrying that it will be OK when I get it back.

At least nobody got hurt. Fix the car, be done with it. Don't let a car ruin a friendship.

Alan, I know it hurts. Been there, done that. In fact, I totaled a 2004 Volvo V70R with less than 500 miles on it. Talk about being bummed out. There were really no words for how I felt; and it was entirely my fault. Fortunately, it was a single car accident and no one was injured (except my pride).

Body shops can do wonders. In a couple of weeks, you'll have your car back and won't even know what happened. It will be fine.

That looks like a dent that is easily fixed. I have never seen a more beautiful wax job than the one on your car! Awesome. Wonder if Autoglym HD Wax is available in the US?

Good news is it is contained to the door. It will come out looking like new. Good luck and enjoy your weekend.

That's fantastic. I was going to ask you about your car yesterday, but got sidetracked. So glad everything worked out for you.

Thanks Mark,
I've just written to the bodyshop manager expressing my complete satisfaction with the job they've done. Folks often put pen to paper (or finger to keyboard) when things go wrong, but I firmly believe that it's just as important, if not more so, to let businesses know when they have really excelled.
