Getting to the battery's positive terminal

Hey guys -

Trying to install my trickle charger with the jump cables and can see getting to the negative terminal, but the positive terminal is a different story. How does one get to it?

You don't need to reach the actual battery terminals. BMW provides an additional connection point for trickle charging/jump starting/etc. in the engine compartment. It is under the hood on the passenger side way up near the windshield.

Yes, electrically it will be identical to connecting it to the battery terminals directly

+2 (or 3?) Mine is always connected to the terminal under the hood. Don't close the hood all the way either, just the first "notch".

I don't have the BMW version, but I have the original version. Mine looks identical but without the letters BMW.

I believe Deltran makes it for BMW. Here's their website: http://batterytender.com/

Oh...mine always worked well on my motorcycle. I've never used it on my BMW.

I know the battery is in the trunk SOMEWHERE. How do I get to it? Which side and what cover it is under? I have but came up with no good pics or descriptions. Any help is appreciated.

There's a little piece of plastic closest to the back that just flips up and exposes a place to connect alligator clips.

Thanks,...but that still doesn't answer the question,...how do I get to it? Thanks in advance. I assume the post above was referring to alligator clips for the battery. I don't see anything like this... A little more guidance please. Thanks.
