Should I be worried yet? Fuel Tank Level

So a few days ago I filled up to half a tank. After some driving I noticed I had traveled 50 miles on the amount of fuel that I usually only get 25 with (reset counter every gas fill up) Thought this was weird but then on my way home from dinner the level went down to 1/4 full (where it should have been).

I chalked it up to just something weird and left it alone. I then let the car sit for a day, didnt go anywhere. Drove to school the next day and when I went to lunch noticed it was closer to 1/2 again then 1/4 full. WTF?

After I noticed that I just went ahead and filled it all the way up. The gas needle reflected filling the tank.

Should i just see if it happens again on this fill up and if not chalk it up to something random? I have the SULEV warranty so I should be covered since the level is part of the pump I believe but it might be tough to convince the dealer this is an issue.

It seems you have the same problem I had with my e46. After I was in a wreck, the gas level went all the way down as if the level sensor just got hungup or something. Just watch a video or locate the fuel level sensor yourself and try to clean off the line the "Bobber" or device that floats in the fuel to tell you your level off. Hope this helps.

I don't know if I can do that. I believe that my gas tank is sealed because it is SULEV which is why I think its covered.

Pulled a Kramer last week, ran off the train to get a slice of pizza and tried to make it back on time!
