Completion Date

1-800- is giving me May 6th. Seems so far away. Says it has entered production though.

I should add 6-8 weeks for shipping right?

This is day 9 or 10. I ordered on the 1st at the dealer. Probably didn't get put in for a couple days.

Called BMW NA. They agreed it's a long time, don't know why.

Maybe the dealer had a shit production slot. Although that would mean they had lied when they said they had one "this month."

Sure but if 800 is telling you in production you really should be at port in 2 weeks. The dealer can f*ck with you on how long it will take to go into production (common practice) but it's not like BMW thinks your dealer is a dick so your car will take extra long.

My 228i Deep Sea Blue/Terra 6 speed manual is now "en route to the U.S."

We may have the first two in SoCal; I haven't seen others in our color combo listed on any dealer websites. Why do all BMW's need to be black, white, silver or grey?

Lots of blue 2 series around but it's primarily the Estoril.

I ordered mine on 3/21 and it still isn't in production! Maybe I should check with the dealer...
Edit--just checked--it just went into production!

I haven't seen any at all anywhere in the area. My dealer did a search and found two - one was in production with weird options, and one that was in route. Finding this color combo was murder, forget the options. So, I just put in the order. You will have to post pictures as soon as yours gets here!

What is the exact thing the 1-800 machine said?

If it's in production then it shouldn't take more than a week

It doesn't matter when you ordered.... only thing that matter is the date of the allocation your dealer assigned to you....

if they gave you an allocation for 1st week of June nothing will happen till then... if you got one for 2nd week of april it will start building right away...

ask your dealer your build week

I would wait a few days and see if it changes

Mine just went into production yesterday and the completion per the 800# is 5/6. Sounds like we all getting the same date.

That can't be right. There must be something wacky going on with their system. Have you tried calling the 800 number and talking to a rep instead of using the automated option?

Rep said a "2 series specialist" was going to have to call me back Monday. IBnocall

I knew from the beginning that I'd need to order, as I wanted the 6 speed manual and the unusual color combo. I placed my order on March 5th, and the dealer is predicting delivery date of May 1 (or a day or two earlier). I ordered from Crevier/Penske in Santa Ana, since I suspect their allocations are higher than most on the West coast, and their price was quite fair.

I obtained my VIN today from my salesperson, and using the decoder at bmwvin.com, I was able to confirm that my car was built on March 18th.

The phone tracking system is pretty useless. Just states "vehicle is in transit".

Thanks for the tip, Pikcachu. Using my VIN, there were "no results found".

Is this the shipper that BMW uses for West coast POE cars? Mine will be arriving at Port Hueneme.
