Hi All,

I recently got my first BMW its a 428i M-sport and I love the car. i`ve been doing a lot of reading about break-in period. I read the manual and also read a lot threads online. I got the car about 2 weeks ago and already put 580 city miles on it. Since i got the car i probably hit 7000 rpm about 6-7 times. Used the sport mode and sport+ mode few times. I never used the launch mode and I was very easy on the breaks most of the time.

My question is did i mess up my engine since i didnt really follow the manual? This is a lease car and I am planing to return it end of the lease which is in 3 years and probably will put no more than 35k miles on it.

Also whenever i start the car i hear a little buzzing sound from the engine it goes away as i drive but i am not sure if this is normal.

I would appreciate any advise or suggestions.

It's probably fine. If you're not sure about the buzzing, take it to a dealer and have them check it out. With that said, BMW engines are very well engineered and meant to take a bit of a beating. Enjoy the car!
