I've just retrofitted cic in my 2006 e90 , now I'm thinking of installing a combox.

I don't have 6fl, and im think of adding 6nr with out the baseplate, but with the video in.

can you still use the usb from the 6nr to play audio from usb ?

I was thinking of just replacing my aux socket for a av socket with usb and enabling 6nr.

will this be ok?

The combox should give you all the options you have with some limitation I believe. Combox should provide 6FL (ARM rest and glove box,) 6NR, Bluetooth streaming and 6NF (BMW Apps)

ok so I think I might have nearly everything together now......

so ive got to remove $612 bmw assist from VO.

and add $6VC $6FL $6NF $6NR $614 $615 $644

is this correct?

then expert code cic and combox ?

This is the tricky part and is worth a shot. The older versions of the CIC systems normally should work this way but If you have the newer versions which requires FSC codes from the dealer or some vendors here.

It works or it doesn't really. Now that I think of it 6NR and BMW apps suite requires the the FSC codes as those features came around MY2010. you could def try the VO change method first and see what happens.

fitted it today, and looks like no bmw apps for me.....

connected drive on the idrive screen is now bmw services.

iphone audio works, on both 6fl and 6nr connections,

Bluetooth audio streaming is working.

internet is there in the menu but doesn't seem to do a lot....just sits there with the circle going round.

6nr baseplate (usb) video works with iphone but blank screen due to me not wiring the video part yet.

im also getting skipping occasionly on the iphone audio.....will have to see whats causing this.....

other than that everything seems to be working......

Hi there I installed a combox media but don't know the part number sorry, it's not really accessible either in my car with out taking out the sub woofer enclosure.

Can you tell me what version of CIC you are running? It should tell you in NCS expert when you connect and select CIC (CIC.C08, etc). Thanks!
