June build date for customer orders
I was just informed that my M3 will go into production in June. I am #1 on the M3 customer order list at my dealer. The general sales manager just sent a screen shot from his computer of my order. It has been accepted (code 111) and I have a production number. Is It looking like mid-July at the earliest for customer order deliveries?

don't think this is true.
allocations locally are showing may, and some into early june I personally expect my car in july though also, there is a big thread in the pricing / ordering forum about this. lots of people have production numbers (myself included) and production weeks, with some in may

When they originally input my order (prior to being accepted), the production week was showing as week 17. I was told even their launch cars are now showing June production as of yesterday.

My ca/dealer has been to busy respond but says allocations are in and I'm the first. Was trying to get a few things changes over the weekend so hope there is still some time to make modifications (color - cf vs sunroof). I assume even if allocation is in for a May build they can still update the build sheet? Typically when does the cutoff occur?

So much for a May build which I thought would happen. I just received word my Conf. Prod. is 2014/06/25
The 25th wk is June 16-22...it could get pushed up or back

Probably just sales talk to hype up the anticipation. I've decided to lay low and stay on the sidelines until I get to really test drive the M4. |

Fastest and easiest thing to do is to just call BMW at 1-800-831-1117. You will need your production number. An automated response tells you the status of your car, but you can ask to speak to a representative for details. The one I spoke to was great. She saw when my order was accepted, the week of production start (week 19, which is the week of May 4), and when production will be completed (week 25, which is the week of June 15). She said it typically takes 12-15 days to ship from Germany to the East coast. If you're on the West coast, she said it'll take an additional 12-15 days.
I'm 1st on the order list at my dealership that's NOT getting the launch car, so I'm assuming this is one of the earliest M4 productions. It sounds like they'll be hitting the east coast end of June/early July. |

So maybe it isn't really better for those who have a May build if it's just going to sit at the port for over a month

How is that everyone has early build dates? Launch cars? I have the first M3 customer car for my dealer in NY. They are saying a first week of August build.. It doesn't make any sense to me.. Someone enlighten me.. The dealer has no clue and has M4 allocations with earlier builds...It's a deal breaker for me..

Yeah, the build date is not on the order sheet printout. It can be viewed on your SA's computer. From that screen you get:

I called my dealer again today and they said nothing has changed since yesterday. So, I'm still looking at a June build. They don't have any information on delays associated with CCBs. I won't be too surprised if it get bumped back a little. It will just give me more time with my M5.
I usually deal with the general sales manager and he's pretty straight up with me. He hasn't been at the BMW dealership this week. I'll stop by and bug him for some more info next week. |
