Typically I fill up at 540-580 miles. Averaging around 35 mpg hand calculated. 70% going 70 and 30% in stop and go traffic. I run JBD at 100% but I also accelerate slowly and coast a lot

It all depends on the traffic condition, style of driving, % freeway/city driving, etc.

Check out fuelly for average MPG.

Mine is at 30MPG average for the past 45k miles.

No idea how you guys are getting 30+ mpg if there's ANY city driving involved. Pure hwy I can do 35-40 mpg depending on speed and conditions, but my city is 18-22 mpg. Idling (like waiting for red lights) really seems like it kills me. and acceleration to 40 mph, even with a feather for a right foot keeps the instant read mpg gauge near pinned to the right side of the gauge. Something I should be worried about?

Oh, and my overall is about 25 mpg, with 60 hwy / 40 city, over the last 4000 miles since purchase. 2011 with 26k miles.

For me at least, cruising at a speed and condition that I can maintain a constant speed and not be speeding up and slowing down makes a huge difference.

Carbon buildup often starts showing up as decreasing mileage...

I bought the car last year at 25,000 on the clock and I still never got 500 miles out of a tank of fuel.
I was getting the same as now around 475 miles per tank which comes out to be around 32 mpg...

30 or 32 mpg seems normal. My daily commute is 75 miles round trip. 70% highway. I get 30 to 32 mpg depending how I drive. As reference I also just had carbon cleaning done back in November.

Of note, on my 335d, the car's OBC was VERY optimistic by 15%. I went into the hidden settings and adjusted the mpg correction factor and now I am within 1 mpg when comparing OBC and hand calculations. Those claiming to get 40+ mpg I tend to think that is not really hand calculated mileage.

I usually get 30 mpg with mixed local/highway "spirited" driving.. Last time I had the car out I did a 3 hour round trip at 70-75 mph (lots of police activity) and averaged 44.3 mpg according to the cars calculations

I'm lucky if I can get over 450 miles on a full tank. Most of my commute and weekend drives are on the freeway. I'm running JBD @ 100% and only on DS mode.

25,000 miles since July 2012 and I'm averaging 31 mpg. 60% hwy/ 40% city. Mine's stock non-sport.

DS mode will no doubt consume more fuel for sure.

Current readout is 28.6 for about 6k trip. I expect 30 on average since i do 70hwy/30city. AVG about 500+ ish a tank on a good trip and 480ish on a low.

Even 1,200 kilometers isn't possible on a full tank for the 335d.

That's Jetta TDI territory.

Think I've done 530miles in one tank before filling up. I hardly ever go below 3/8th of a tank.

My average seems to be 29.2mpg according to fuelly.

Seems like everyone has such a varied mileage. I get about 800km/500mi from a tank 63li/16ga on a 50hwy/50city cycle. Like to push it sometimes.
