M3/M4 vs. E90/E92 M3?
Okay, tune-ability is a given; track too. But stock - for the street - what sort of advantage do you expect to see? I would expect better roll-ons, but I don't really drive aggressively enough to get a great advantage from that anymore. Anything obvious I'm missing?

111lb tq more and 200lbs lighter will be a factor for the f80 over the e90, plus now with turbos tuning will gain higher hp possibilities. The e90 interior is also so very dated - 10 years old! Also, the mpg on the f80 will be 20% plus increase.
The e90 will be a collectors car in the near future, especially the ones with no nav and sportin a manual tranny. |

Good luck with the gas mileage...
I run 11.2 l/100 km with my E92. My 2007 335i 6 speed w/ Dinan stage 2 did about 10 l/100 km. That's about 24 mpg. I'd fall over dead if the F80/82 could do any better than that - about a 15% increase.
As for the interior, I guess "out of date" suits me: I like my two hump E92 much better. The tacked on screen is definitely not good. The torque is a great thing if you're dealing with a lot of traffic. I had 428 ft lbs (peak) with the N54 and Dinan stage 2 and a 60 mile (each way) commute. I certainly missed that in my last year of commuting with the E92. But in everyday driving in an exurban environment since - not so much. I'm going to have to drive this car before making up my mind. Don't get me wrong - I've owned every M3 since the E36, and I'll likely buy this one too. |

The new m4 will be a better daily drive. More power down low. Etc. if you like turbo 6 cylinder engine it's perfect. I prefer a slower fuel hungry screaming v8 that has a has no power down low. I am kind of nuts in that sense. |
