Coolant Leak From i dont know where

Okay guys this morning i started my car and boom coolant warning came on lucky i had BMW coolant in my trunk so i filled it up, drop my dad off at the bus stop 4 blocks down and start heading to my gf house, after another 5 blocks boom coolant warning come on so i pull over at the gas station and open the hood and a bit of steam and coolant splashed everywhere. I believe its coming from underneath where the air filter plastic that sits on top near the kidney grills. I looked underneath and it was like a puddle and it was just going downward. Is it a hose issue, radiant issue? FYI i did get an oil change once at a local qucik oil change shop and they added some other type of coolant, that's why its green, i was going to get it flushed but they wanted $200 for something so simple, so i was going to do it in a week or so.

Could be many things in there. There's the over flow hose that runs along the top of the radiator. There's the radiator itself. And the many other houses in there. It's hard to tell from just the pictures because everything is all hidden.

I would have the system checked like right now without driving it.

Check the hose that runs under your air intake (under the part that connects to the snorkel). Lots of guys seem to break that one, it's plastic and gets brittle.

Like Picha said too. That overflow hose ontop of the radiator cracks sometimes.
Thats where mine was a while back.

It was the hose above the radiator. It was cracked a bit so I replaced it myself with a new one. but I now have steam coming out of my radiator when the car is warmed up, it never did that before..

I believe it was the one your talking about, it connects to the actual coolant fill up tank does under the vent ducts and connects to radiator, I did replace it and now smoke is coming out my radiator when the car is warmed up. it doesn't smell sweet it just smells like steam.

Did you flush the old coolant from the system and add the correct fluid? You also need to perform the bleed procedure to get rid of the air in the system.

I haven't, and my coolant is greenish now, but BMW wants $200 for this, I tried doing it my self and I also took it to my friends shop but he told me it needs to be vacuumed or something like that. have u flushed it your self?

If you are asking if it can be done; yes and I have done it as well. Need a few common tools and some spare time. This is if you are confident to do this yourself. Need to drain coolant from the radiator and engine. Take a look at the DIY section and you'll see some detailed info on draining. Waterpump and thermostat replacement. Now that I think about it. Try running the bleed procedure to see if your pump works.

Only when venting!
Note:
Do not open the coolant expansion tank cap during the venting
procedure.
1. Connect battery charger.
2. Switch on ignition.
3. Set heater to maximum temperature and turn fan down to
lowest speed.
4. Press accelerator pedal for 10 seconds to floor. Engine
must not be started.
5. The venting procedure is started when the accelerator pedal is
pressed and takes approx. 12 minutes.(Electric coolant pump
was activated and shuts down automatically after approx.
12 minutes).
6. Then top up fill level in coolant expansion tank with 100 ml
above max (see illustration).
7. Check cooling system for leaks.
8. If venting has to be carried out again (e.g. if cooling system is
leaking), allow DME to fall completely (leave ignition key
removed for approx. 3 minutes), then repeat from Point 3.

is this the procedure?

and I can do the work if I have a decent DIY I think I can manage it.

This procedure is correct. I cannot point you to the DIY as I'm on the cell app but it is in the DIY section likely on the first page. Have read to see if you could manage it.
