Where did you order the part from? I ordered my car with every performance part installed in terms of interior except for that which they said was not available yet.

Can you provide some more details in terms of how to install it? I couldn't add this to my vehicle either as it was not available within their VDC. I'm debating if I should pay and have the dealer install or do it myself. Please advise, thanks!

I've just fitted them, basically pop out the gaitor around the gear knob, I used a plastic trim tool but you can probably do it without. Put it in 2nd gear and then pull gear knob up, it feels like it isn't going move but suddenly it will and then comes of easily. Push new gear knob on and then pop the gaitor back into the cut out.
The handbrake is a little more tricky, lift the lid on centre console and using trim tool lever out the top of the gaitor by the centre console and then remove the sides using the tool. To remove the handle on the handbrake I used a flat head screwdriver underneath to lever the handle slightly forward and once started moving I could pull it off. Replacing is easier and just reverse. Below link is for previous 1 series so parts slightly different but principal is the same.

The MP gear knob is great I did it for looks really as had fitted the dash parts but it improves the feel of the shift a huge amount. It's slightly shorter than the standard one which shortens the shift as well and the shape and smaller size also for me improves the feel of the shift. For anyone who has a manual think its a must and the cheapest mod you can do for the amount of improvement in the driving experience, plus it looks great.

Thanks for the explanation. Your link seems to be down, do you have another? And just to confirm, the shift knob is actually secured in place by just popping the old knob off and pushing the new knob on? (No turning?)

Thanks
