A real german :D
Hi there,
since it´s my day off and I made it to wash my car and take a few pics of it, I´m gonna share them with you guys. Additionaly I´ll use this post to introduce myself: I´m Boltar from ol´Germany, the very south of it actually. The city´s name is Freiburg, if you even care I´m 27 y/o and I really enjoy ´tallica, BMW (you guys really say "Bimmer" IRL? thats friggin funny) and other stuffs. Awesome site and forums you got here. My dream is to, one day, go to your Bimmerfest. I´ve seen trailers of it and I wanna take my baby and pay you guys a visit there. Now I just need to find someone with a ship. By the way, our biggest Bimmer ( Bimmer..) "party" is the Asphaltfieber, held by the BMW Syndikat. If one of you guys is in Germany in July you HAVE TO check that one out! ´nuff said. Suns out, guns out: |

I have an uncle who lives in Freiburg. He always said it was pretty there, but he never mentioned the stunning cars.

So, six years have passed. And I am not afraid to dig out this old thread.
I am fully aware that my N43B20 is not going to get any applause. You wont believe the negative feedback I have received for my engine. Also, I know the "N43 problems" thread in this and other forums. But being honest: I am happy with this engine. We are close to 160k kilometers (almost 100k miles) and there wasn't a single issue. It consumes 6L/100km (39 miles to the gallon) when I take it easy. Every 10k kilometers I put in 4.25L of the finest Ravenol 0W40 juice. I do drive it to its limits regularly. The chain and its rails have been checked, this car is not affected (can be checked via VIN through BMW dealership). So, yes, I am very happy with it. What has happened in the last six years? A Bilstein B12 ProKit has been installed. Also, the performance exhaust system, H&R track spacers (40mm) in the rear and the performance diffusor We have met our elders We were invited BMW VIP guests at the DTM We started a bimmer club We chatted with Walter Röhrl The big brake kit has been installed And it looks kinda ok Oh and we went to the ring I bought another BMW so my E92 would be a weekend-only car The perfect hideout had been found After hundreds of years of searching, a carbon intake kit has been found and installed And yes. It does make noises. At low revs its a grunting one, reving higher it turns into some sonorous sound of pleasure and above 4000 revs its a scream of BMW climax. The "performance power kit" plate is fake and meant to deflect overly curious police men. No cop would ever realize that the BMW power kit only existed for six cylinder models. So, what can I say? I will never sell this thing. It was my first car and I've test driven some M4s and enjoyed it - yet unimpressed. Going fast in a straight line is not something I consider a great skill. And the M4s all had a ton of understeer compared to my lightweight (1300 KG) E92. |
