X1 sDrive28i Mineral Gray from Hawaii

Aloha!
Here's some pics of my 2013 X1 mineral gray.
my X1 is base model sDrive28i. I think It is perfect car for island life style.
I dont think xDrive is not necessary in this island and I love rear wheel drive for fun drive.
well..no iDrive package in my car and I mounted Nexus 7 with OBD2 for navigation and g-force monitor, etc.. yes value package and Im happy with it
Love my X1.

Thanks. Mostly I use nexus as a music player via bluetooth and battery goes approx. 3 days.. no wires are require to mount nexus on dashboard.
and the Jet flight look alike G-force meter boosts 5 more emotional horsepowers to my X1

it may sounds funny..
I attached non-slip rubber mat (rubber mouse pad) on back panel of nexus with instant glue.
fold half way the mat and insert into the dashboard space. it hold very tight and stable.
and rubber mat prevent scratch on dashboard and easy to unmount for recharge.
I will post picture later.

What a GREAT idea!!!! That seems to be the new "look" anyway... (2 series, MB CLA, etc).
I have a 7 inch tablet from Verizon......can't wait to hear more details of how you have it installed. Sounds like a very elegant solution.

Hello
here's picture how I mounted nexus7. I guess there's better solution.
and to play bluetooth music with nexus 7, you need to install a2dp bluetooth receiver. X1's built-in bluetooth only support telephone connection not music stream. I connected my phone to built-in car bluetooth and nexus to a2dp bluetooth adaptor. No need to re-pairing nexus7 every time. its re-pairing automatically.
Pls let me know if you have a better mounting solution.
thank you

Very nice car and cool idea with the tablet ... Question: using this setup when the tablet is providing direction does it use the car speakers? Does it turn down the music to give instructions?

The way you have the Nexus on the dash almost looks like the way that Mercedes is doing their GPS/Infotainment screens. Well done!
