Opinions...my E90 Jet Blk On Gunmetal Plasti Dip Wheels

SO I PICKED UP A 06 BMW 325I ABOUT 3 MONTH BACK... STARTED LOOKING AT PICS HERE ON E90POST AND GOOGLE AND REALLY DIDNT FIND ANY E90'S WITH DEEP DISH PLASTI DIP GUNMETAL WHEELS OR ANY OTHER COLORS OTHER THAN FLAT BLACK AND REGULAR EVERYDAY WHEEL COLORS..
I ALSO HAD MY EYES ON M3 STYLE FRONT BUMPER, SO I PICKED UP ONE FROM A MEMBER HERE ON E90POST.COM

I'VE DONE ALL THE WORK TO MY CAR, INCLUDING PAINTING BUMPER AND WHEELS ..

TELL ME WHAT U GUYS THINK SO FAR

WHEN I FIRST GOT IT:

AS OF 3-7-14 THROUGH 3-10-14 WHAT I DID ...

M3 REP FRONT BUMPER
LIFTED REAR HEIGHT A BIT
PAINTED CALIPERS RED
WRAPPED BLUE ON BMW EMBLEMS IN BLACK ASWELL AS WHEEL CENTER CAPS.
PLASTI DIPPED WHEELS GUNMETAL GRAY AND ADDED GLOSSIFIER.
PAINTED GRILL FLAT BLACK
MADE MY OWN LICENSE PLATE HOLDER.

ORDERED 17MM AND 20MM SPACERS FOR FRONT AND REAR.

I PAINTED BUMPER IN MY GARAGE!!!

FUTURE MODS:
PROJECTION HEADLIGHT
M-TECH REAR BUMPER
CSL TRUNK WING
CF V-STYLE FRONT LIP

Gumetal grey doesnt look to great on those wheels and that color car IMO. The red calipers also dont do much for me. It just seems to highlight the fact that the brakes are stock and seems to make the grey of the wheels look more like a blue, which is not good.

+1.

Must be the lighting or I am missing something... not one of those pictures looks like gunmetal, not even close. Looks blue.

Also, you "heighten the rear" Does that mean you got the car and it was lowered so you made the rear back to stock ride height, or did you increase the stock ride height... and if you did that, for what reason?

car was way too flush in the rear so I adjusted the rear also because I'm getting spacers

as for the wheels looking blue I see what u guys mean.. but its actually the lighting that does that...I'll take better pics with spacers on when I get them..

Great work on painting the bumper yourself. Ride is clean, the wheel color doesn't look too bad but meh.

Turn Caps Lock off, and try it without the Glossifier. It's probably the "metallic" effect capturing from the blue in the sky and thus bluish-gray. Or try them with paint because Plasti-dip is awful.

I liked the original look of the wheel. Get those spacers and take the dip off. I agree with the new ride height and front bumper. Great job on the paint.

I WANTED SOMETHING DIFFERENT.. TIRED OF SEEING FLAT BLACK, BLACK WHEELS EVEN THOUGH IT MIGHT LOOK GOOD ON MY CAR .. ANYWAYS ITS PLASTI DIP SO I CAN ROCK THEM FOR A WHILE AND THEN PEAL THEM OFF.. I AM THINKING OF ACTUALLY PAINTING THE WHEELS WITH ACTUAL PAINT BUT GOING TO WAIT A BIT TILL I GET MY CARBON FIBER FRONT LIP SO I CAN MATCH THE CARBON FIBER GREY TO THE WHEELS ....PAINT IT SELF IS CHEAP. THE PROCESS BEFORE PAINTING IS USUALLY WHAT COST MONEY BUT HEY I GET DOWN WHEN IT COMES TO PAINTING SO I GOT THAT COVERED .....AS FOR SANDING IT JUST TAKES SOME ELBOW GREASE.

ANYWAYS RIGHT NOW I'M VERY HAPPY HOW IT TURNED OUT... JUST HOPING MY SPACER WILL GET HERE SOONER THAN LATER..

AND NO I WILL NOT GO BACK TO STOCK COLOR HATED THEM...MAYBE JUST PEAL THE LIP. I GUESS I'M JUST AN OUTSIDER..

BMW:

THIS IS MY 6SPD TL WITH SIMILAR COLOR WHEELS BUT ACTUAL PAINT.

MY 06 RSX-S ALL WORK AND PAINT DONE BY ME!

MY SUBARU... SOLD

Don't like plastidip looks like... Well, plastic. Needs the glosser or something,

How did you paint the bumper yourself?

Jet black spray cans or? How many costs and clear? Looks like a decent job.

they do have gloss, anyways no it wasn't painted with spray can it was painted with stage 2 Matrix paint and cleared with Matrix MSV-21 clear coat.. all done with paint gun in my garage.. dusted and sprayed garage floor with water so dust wont pick up.

paint was $35 for a pint and the clear coat and reducer and everything else needed to prep paint I already had from previous project.. but if I had to buy everything it would be like $130, some shops rip people off in my opinion
