N54 Boost question

I've doing some searching but can't get a straight answer.

My question is, the stock set-up for the N54 boost is 8 psi.

Is that boost sustained or is it peak boost?

Peak- though it pushes about 8ish pounds for most of the curve.

Not sure if your serious. I can't think of any forced air system that maintains a sustained boost level through the rpm band. The 8psi is peak boost. IS cars can be as high as 14 apparently.

Depending on customer request/vehicle intended use we have tuned cars to peak and hold 12psi from 3K to redline.

Yeah but key word is 3K rpm. No turbo/supercharger maintains sustained positive boost from idle to redline. Also that is tuned. Most stock boost maps have peak boost mid-range tapering up top.

EDIT: I'm referring to a sustained number of let’s say 8psi. Thought I would clarify.
