Ok, so Im new to turbo engines. Ive had the jb4 installed for awhile, however just got catless downpipes and fmic installed, and now im throwing the 2caa and 2ca6 code. I know those are for the 02 sensors at the downpipes. My car is not running very well, feels like theres no boost. I have dci's and i dont even here them going. I hear the turbo spool, and the my boost gauge shows pressure and then drop off within milliseconds. Can bad 02 sensors cause this? Much help appreciated!!

Just an update, it was a huge boost leak, but that didn't throw the codes. It was actually a misfire, bank 1 sensor 1. I finally went g5 iso, and kept getting thrown into map 4 from any map. Finally replaced my 02 sensor yesterday, and all is well. No more codes!

did you use the Downpipe fix from BMS, when you run the downpipes you can throw codes. the downpipe fix will correct this issue

well the code is just for 1 02 sensor. But now that my 02 sensor was replaced, im not throwing any codes... and I have the jb4, so no bms fix.

just got this same code after downpipe install, was it hard to replace o2 sensor?

well for me it was since my jack wont fit under my car, and I cant get on ramps lol. If you can lift your car, not at all, just follow the wire. If its the same exact code, you can use the bosch 02 sensor. I got mine at oreilly's for like 159 bucks. I had a shop install it for me for like 30 bucks since they have a lift. Just remove the engine cover, on the right side, youll see where the 2 sensors go in, its the first one, the black one. You might need to get a tool from, auto zone or another parts store, its an 02 sensor removal tool.

strange, mine was working fine until i installed downpipes this morning. i also heard that if the wire cover isn't covering the metal it could trip the o2 sensor. So i'm going to try that since my wires were exposed. luckily my car is jacked up now, so if this doesn't work then i guess i'm going to have to bite the bullet and buy new o2 sensor.

someone also said clean the maf sensor too.

i got those exact code right after my dp install, prior that my car had no faults.

were you sure that the o2 plugs are plug in the right order? have u look again to check if any codes?

my car is going back to the installer on monday to fix this issue so im trying to figure out the exact problem.

btw did you lower the steering rack during install? my steering feels lighter now so i am not sure what is wrong.

Mine were brand new, well maybe 1500 miles when I had my dps installed, but there pretty sensitive when you take them out, and get damaged realllly easily. The guy who installed my dps, said he was extremely careful, but they can get damaged just by being taken out.

Are you n54 or n55? N54 only has
T-map not maf, so I knew that couldn't be it lol.

Your wires might be twisted, but probably not. I would uninstall it, and re-install correctly, if that doesn't work, time for a new sensor! Go Bosch, same thing as oem but half the price lol.

I was 100% sure. I had done so much searching, again, this happened about a month ago, and I literally just fixed it yesterday. I was going to wait to replace the sensor next month when I get my walnut blasting done, but I went ISO on Thursday, and couldn't boost past stock. So bit the bullet and had it done yesterday. Your car will feel SOOOOO MUCH better when you fix it. It's night and day, granted, I did just go ISO and that probably has a lot to do with it, but my car was idling rough, and my mpg were terrible!

haha, i got my dps install last week. at first the code did not throw a engine light and i had full power, then it seems to be getting worst last few day and i have to keep clearing the codes.

can u tell mewhich o2 sensor did you replace?

also did you notice any fuel smell coming into the cabin? i had a cracked aircon pipe last summer and i am not sure if its me or its normal that the car is dragging fumes from the engine in so easily or my dealer done a crappy job and some intake hose it not fitted on properly?

i've read from terry @bms that you're not supposed to run with the DPfix installed at all times. its should only be used temporarily when needed. apparently it messes with long term fuel trims if i remember correctly. makes sense, the car should not need simulated o2 sensors to run properly, only to pass emissions readiness. the jb4 will suppress the CEL anyway.

Well actually the car didn't really drag, in fact it pulled really well. Didn't misfire, but it did start to get worse over time, started misfiring really bad. I threw a light every time, and I eventually started throwing another code, it was like 2c3d or something like that, but for the same 02 sensor.

Yes it was bank 1 sensor 1! So upstream cylinders 1-3! When you take the engine cover off, you'll see where the sensors plug in on the right hand side. It's the black one. If you can get under it, just take your the pan off, and you can see the 02 sensor.

And yes, I'll smell fumes here and there, and when I'm pushing the car pretty hard, at a stop I'll get the rotten egg smell, however ever since I replaced the 02 sensor, no fumes smell, and I went and put some e85 earlier and pushed the car pretty hard and no rotten egg smell either lol.

That is correct. I don't run it, and I have no codes, what so ever. I don't even think I'm going to get the fix, they don't really do much "inspecting" down here haha.

Finally someone talks about the annoying 2C3D code!!!! Never imagined that it was related to 2CAA and 2CA6 codes

The faulty O2 sensor could harm the performance? I mean boost build, PSI level, HPFP operation, et al.
