yet another problem with my E92... car does not start

no error code,
battery jump attempted,
the speed gauge does not sweep like normal when I insert the key
pressing the start button actually turn OFF the car, see the video
jb4 menu cannot be accessed, I assume power doesn't even reach the computer

video link:

I just had it towed to my garage
thanks in advance !

could be related to the battery cable recall if you haven't had that done.

I would start with taking the JB4 out first.

Then I would test the voltage on the battery. Which brings the question how old is the battery?

power doesn't even reach the JB4 I don't think it's related.

fixed ! It turns out when the battery is low, it's still strong enough to turn on all the lights, play the stereo at max volume, do all the functions as normal.
but it's not strong enough to crank the engine even a little bit.
AND jumping the car with any kind of power would not help if the battery is flat.... or seemingly flat
so all I had to do is charge the battery ...

Yep, that's the proper question. Certainly warrants checking the alternator's condition.

yep, also checking for a parasitic drain on the battery when the cars off is a good idea.

Unless the battery was defective, that shouldn't account for it failing in just 4 months.
