06 330i windshield distortion

have my 06 330i 6spd 4 weeks now(of course i fell off the roof 3 weeks ago landing on my face and shattering my left arm)and noticed
riding home from the ERthat the pass side of windshield looks like it has little bubbles between the glass laminate.
dealer said they would replace it but im concerned whenever a repair
like that is done. been trying to ignore it but now i know its there it bugs me. still cant believe it left the factory like that. any body else seen this?

Ouch! Sorry to hear about the injury! Replacing a windshield is (unfortunately) a very common procedure. I would let them replace it for you.

Actually, it is probally a good idea to have it replaced. Any imperfections in the glass will weaken it.

I've had to have the windshild replaced on my last BMW... Not a problem (and the insured covered everything).

Ouch! That's gonna leave a mark! Hey, at least you are driving again!

I'd get it replaced because, like you, knowing it's there would drive me crazy! By the way, how did the accident happen? Were you decorating for Christmas?

cool picture, makes it look easy.
thanks for the quick reply. guess i,ll have it done. let you know the outcome.
amazing car though.
had a 2001 330i steptronic, never knew what the big deal was about
3 series, the wife wanted one forever.
then i spent some time with it(i found religion that day, clever people
these bavarions, i said to myself)i have been in the car business for 21
years, name a car and i've probably worked on or driven that make. diablo, 328, 911's, viper, original 67 427 AC daytona (not a kit)saleens, though i didnt drive many miles in them, other than diablos i cant recall any of them that had the feel of that 2001 330i.
the 06 is magical.
had a diablo up 165 indicated was solid and stable but sounded like being in an f-3 tornado.
had the 330i up to 145 and was stable and almost serene. didnt intend go that fast that day because the car wasnt properly broken in yet. but the conditions and timing were perfect.
its hard to explain the feeling of accel of bmws to the uniniated, but i know you guys understand, what i say is the faster it goes the faster it goes. some cars may faster out of the hole but this cars got legs!
forgive the grammer and the rambling but the painkillers must be working.
if i figure out how ill post some car pics so you guys dont think im blowing smoke about cars ive driven/worked on. thanks for listening
being mostly home bound sucks.

No bubbles but my e46 windshield had quite reasonable distortion on the bottom RHS, well off normal viewing area next to the steering wheel. (remember here in Australia we have RHD). Never worried about it as I had to deliberately look in that direction and move up and down to see the rippled distortion.

Sorry to read about your fall and injury. Get well quick.
No more roof walking for you, hey.

just curious.

Go up to the top menu, click on garage, then add your vehicle...It will add a link to your profile
