That time...
When I'm driving home from work and hit a pot hole or something (it was dark) and next comes a bang then my tire pressure sensor says low tire pull over.
Whatever it was sliced my rear driver's side tire. Couldn't tell what happened so put the air compressor on it and could literally hear and feel the air rushing out. looks as if someone took a knife too it. Good times. For bonus fun I'm running michelin pilot super sports so I'll have to take the wheels off until I can get it replaced rather than just drive to the nearest tire shop. Even more fun is that there seems to be a lack of PSS in 265/35/19 for some reason. Tire rack says they have 2... Ok vent over. Just annoyed at the inconvenience and the fact that they had like 5k miles on them and look bran new. Last edited by tdizzle; 02-14-2014 at 03:36 PM.. |

Annoyingly it seems the Michelin is discontinuing the 265/35/19 size and I got the last one from Tirerack. Literally, THE. LAST.ONE. They have them in the Porche (same tire but +$100 charge) and for Mercedes (same price as regular aftermarket) so I guess that's an option in the future. But shocking that the tires I bought to go with my wheels seems to be discontinued less than a year after I bought them. I think Continential DW did the same thing which is why I went with the PSS, Conti discontinued the size my fronts are. |

Did you change your tire size? my OEM offset fit 19's are 255/35/19. I too am running PSS, they seem to still be in stock in that size. I know that doesn't help much until you run through your existing tires, but something to think about for the future.

I could easily go 275 but would need to run 30 profile and I wanted to run 35 if I could. Not certain but 255 would probably be a tight fit on these wheels. |

That sucks man… I'm running MPSS as well..
Even with the hassle of such a situation, I personally think the performance benefits of these tires over the run-flats is worth it. The Run-Flats that came on the car didn't do much for me.

Seems like the PSS in this size will be back in stock at tirerack.com soon.

I know this thread is a little older, but I would advise to anyone that has had an issue with their local roads contact the city that the incident occurred in. If you report the road hazard to the city, they should be able to fix it, and they sometimes offer compensation on replacement parts that are damaged.
