Alpine B3 Flash

So I am looking for a reputable place to do the B3 TCU flash for my 11/07 335xi. Anyone know who can do it for a good price?

Detail Addict in Santa Clara is doing the Alpina B3 tranny flash for me for $150 this weekend. They're also doing a lot of other coding for $160 more.

I'm told it can be done for a lot less by freelancers but I'd rather do it at a "reputable" shop w/a brick and mortar location. Detail Addict has a good reputation on Yelp and was referred to me by another forum member. I'll tell you what I think of their work/service after the job is done.

There's a guy named Cyberkaa on this forum who supposedly does freelance coding work in the SF Bay Area. I PM'd him the other day but he hasn't gotten back to me yet, which is another reason why I'd prefer to deal w/a brick & mortar shop, even if it may cost more $.

Communication with Detail Addict has been excellent and they have a shop where I can "find" them if any issues come up after the coding is done.

I've used detail addict before when Grant was their code Guru. I was just hoping to get it for the same price as Alex@alpine.
If he wasn't in LA I would go there. Let me know how detail addict works out.

Try Performance Technic in Pleasanton, they did some work for me and did great work.

Get the Alpine B3 Flash!

Just got back home after a 60 mile drive over varying terrain following the installation of the Alpine B3 tranny flash in my 2008 335i E90 AT.

The Alpina flash really ROCKS! The shifting and performance of the car is "better" in D and DS but is absolutely TRANSFORMED in Manual. The flash will hold revs until you decide to upshift up and is excellent in matching engine/trans speeds so that the shifts are much smoother than in stock. There is still some abruptness in the shift changes when upshifting but the flash is SUPERB matching engine/trans speed when downshifting for very smooth downshifts, even when aggressively shifting from a lower rev band in a higher gear to a much higher rev band in a lower gear.

My major gripe w/the stock AT program was the abrupt shift changes and lack of rev matching, particularly when downshifting. ALL of those problems are gone now. The car now drives much more like a "real" MT now when in M, even though it's "just" an AT. So, I am VERY, VERY happy and, IMHO, whether you've done any engine mods or not, the Alpina tranny flash is definite MUST do for a 335i, regardless of where or how you decide to get it done.

Got the work done at Detail Addict in Santa Clara. You can find my "review" of Detail Addict and info on cost & specifics of the work done in the following threads:
