YES!!! I just placed my order for the M4!!!

On my way home from work tonight my SA called me to inform me that they were able to put orders for the new M3 and M4 into their system. He told me to stop by sometime this week... I just told him that I was heading directly to the dealer.

I sat with my SA and the sales manager and we made all the selections for my new M4. FINALLY!!! No production allocation yet, but they told me that doing this will indicate to BMW that they have a sold car and help them to get an allocation!!!

Now the wait begins...

Did the options and packages have pricing information or did it just say blocked?

No idea about prices yet. They pretty much have the M4 Coupe Order Guide and I just picked the options that I wanted. I signed a copy of the order and I have a copy. As soon as they get an allocation, I will be able to make changes IF something is different from the options available at this time.

Here is a copy of the order document.

Yep, dealers have been able to do this for a month. I did mine 3-4 weeks ago. For some reason not all dealers are doing this for their customers. Now if we only have the real order guide...

Congrats!

Well, hate to be Eyore, but if they don't have an allocation, you do not have an order placed. Every dealer has preorders just waiting for an allocation. Until the order guide is released, then the system opened, and allocations distributed, there are no real orders placed in the US. Prove me wrong, but I think all that is in the system still is the demo order selections? Would love to be proved wrong.

Greg, your signature says you pre-ordered an M4. Don't you have a printout just like us who have pre-ordered?

No, I preordered April '13 before there was a whiff of what would be available. I think it's not really relevant until the real US packages and options are made available. It will probably be 90% like the demo options, but there will be differences. It doesn't hurt to do it, if it makes you feel like you are narrowing in on your selection, but don't confuse it with a real order.

I hate to break it to you, but you didn't place an order. I've had the exact same type of order sheet that you posted for over 2 months. I spec'd my order and received my Vehicle Inquiry Report on December 4th.

I don't think anyone in the US has said they have a real order with a production number with an estimated delivery date. We see the prices are listed as "Blocked". Some of us haven't even put down deposit. Our orders are as placed as BMW's ordering system allows them to be at this moment. It is relevant because I know my name is in the system and as soon as my dealer gets its first allocations, I know I am getting one of the first ones.

Greg, why doesn't your dealer put in an "Vehicle Inquiry Report" for you? Or maybe you just don't want one yet?
