Stett FMIC Option?

Im in the market for a FMIC, I have order stett cai and charge pipe so I figured I would take a look at their FMCI. after, viewing many options I have to say that the stett looks bigger and with better finishes than most. However, I wanted to know if this intercooler is worth the money... it is quite steep compared to others as well, maybe I can get a few others suggestions if this is not worth the 1k+... thanks guys

for the most part there fairly similar, some better than others not by all to much. except for the cheap ebay type ones with crappy fin pack design and endtanks, those are just awful. stett is more unique and seems like more work to get it to fit. helix, wagner, or cobb are good alternatives to, they offer that stepped design and to get a little more cooling. you can always go with a vrsf 7in fmic. vrsf will probably be the best bang for your buck and is tried n true by many members here. theres a ton of info on the forums about the intercoolers. try searching around for some of the actual test data to get a definitive answer. otherwise you'll just this is the best intercooler (insert brand here) because i have it type results.

I would purchase Helix or ETS 7 inch

Data is around for both these intercoolers, they are the top contenders from what I have researched.

VRSF seems to be popular, It's cheaper and I have seen logs with minimum heat soak.

DO NOT BUY GODSPEED, OR EBAY CHEAPOS.

Not worth the money. It's just a private labeled intercooler made by a reputable company here that makes intercoolers for this platform already so you are just paying extra.

If you want a good size intercooler like a 6" or 7" I would go with the Evolution Racewerks or the ETS 7" first. The biggest problem including ourselves we found with the Stett line up is the customer service is lacking and they take weeks to months to ship stuff out.

thanks guys, I appreciate all the help. As doing a little more research I think the VRSF 7 inch is a good choice for the price and performance. As far as Stett customer service.... agreed... I payed rush delivery for my items and did not received anything via mail until a week later

No surprise. That's why we discontinued our dealer relationship with them.

If you need any help with intercoolers we carry a bunch and very familiar with the platform as I've owned the car myself.

I'm incredibly confident our intercooler can perform as well or outperform both of those two options and if the opportunity ever presented itself to test the ours with theirs, I'd be more than happy to offer up one of our intercoolers.

We've sold hundreds of our 7" and have cars running over 500whp on the stock turbos pushing 11 second quarter miles.

I could double our prices if it'll make you feel like you're buying a better quality product but we're one of the only 7" options on the market that offers seamless cast end tanks from inlet to outlet, our engineered fin pack is staggered/offset and our intercooler is designed specifically for this application to ensure the best balance between cooling and flow.

Here's a graph from a customer of their recent tune from the guys over @BrenTuning

The 5" is the only stepped core we have plans for and that's going to be released by mid summer.

You can't go wrong with the Active Autowerke Race Intercooler, thing is huge and quality is top notch, customer service is on point also, contact Andrew for good deals. There are several good intercoolers out there, depending on your mods and how far you want to go with the car (FBO, turbo upgrade, just a tune, etc...) it'll be wise to search more before you pull the trigger. Prices vary based on quality, performance and what WHP they can handle.
Here's a pic from the AA Race Version. Hope this helps
