I love the general public.

So, this happened.

Massive crease along the swage line, mirror cap smashed, door handle fucked. No one saw anything. Brilliant.

Hopefully found a replacement door in the same colour, then I should be able to just swap the lock barrels? No coding needed? And hopefully just a new mirror cap although the clips are broken so might have to fix them/glue it on.

Majorly gutting. Second time this has happened to one of my cars. I did something similar and left a note and paid my dues, sadly this hasn't come back to me.

That's shocking and I feel your pain. Someone did the same to the back of our mini the other week in a car park and drove off. It wasn't as bad as yours tho and lucky I have some friends in the trade but it's still annoying!

Hopefully karma will come round and bite these people in the arse one day..

I think there's something wrong with some people in this country.
Only a complete cretin could do that and take no responsibility.

I hope it's not too expensive, or too much of a pain in the ass getting it put right.

I have a similar thread running for a similar situation with my car so I feel your pain.

Mmmmmm, bit of bodywork, either new door handle or repaint handle. Repaint door. I'm guessing £600.

Edit: forgot the new mirror. £700+

Picked up a replacement door for £60 today, with handle, correct colour, similar condition to mine was. New mirror cap is £30, all done.

Obviously to get it done professionally yes, but this is much cheaper, and won't mean expensive body work.

Just need to get a mirror cap now.

Looking today, it's clear how 'lucky' I was, that it didn't touch the rear door or the wing, and only the mirror cap is damaged.

I agree people are pricks. I had two guys cime yo look at my 535d a few days ago. One of them had a 335d so clearly thought he was sime kind of pro. They both pulled around on pipes and all sorts like a couple of wannabee grease monkey and basucally broke my car. Took it for a test drivr and immediately it was in limp mode and didnt drive. The guys blamed me when the car has never ever skipped a beat. They knew damn well pulling at pipes etc could potentially pull something loose. They then left obviously without the car and left me with a bill for new vac lines and red boost hose.

they took no responsibility what so ever. Peoole in this world are real dicks sometimes. If you in my area and need anything let me know. Luckily I also have a few friends in the trade so can help you out if need be.
