HOLY MOLY!!! CHEMICAL GUYS DETAILED my F10!
So… I dropped off my 535ix at Chemical Guys' headquarters in Inlgewood, CA.
They spent 3 days detailing my car! In brief, my black sapphire 535i X-Drive has gone through a few snowstorms in Colorado… and the paint had been brutally scratched all over... I'm going to get a detailed list of all the products they used and I'll add it to this post… Meanwhile, they did an absolutely AMAZING job! They did a waterless wash, they did a polish a clay bar (they even clayed the windows and wheels), and a ridiculous wax, and they even added a sealant! I was speechless when I went to see the car when it was done. I absolutely cannot describe with words what the car looks like... so until I get this product list… here are a few snapshots of the car while it was being worked on… One more thing… all of their products have an AMAZING SCENT!!! No words or photos can can bring you the scent!! My personal fav. products: 1. Black Light (AMAZING!!!!!! and smells… like blueberries!!) 2. Leather Serum 3. Hybrid V7 (phenomenal!) 4. Butter Wet Wax (Soooo smooth!) Enjoy the pics…

You should have asked them for 50/50 comparison shot, thats how you can tell how good of a job they really did. I shop there frequently as a customer as well.

the price varies from car to car… It all depends on what you want done to your car, and what are you want to have them focus, and if it entails any paint correction, etc.

I've called them (to take in my porsche), and no idea what has happened over there, but I can't get a hold of the guy who I spoke to originally.

I do not like "secretive" pricing methods. It is like they try to get you to pay as much as they can get out of you. So if you do not care to much about money, they'll get you. I you whine and negotiate they will do it for less. - I HATE THAT!
Give some basic pricing, but do try to rip people off. For that, I would not do business with the "chemical guys". |

Prices on these kind of jobs vary greatly, so to give a general price is not easy.
It depends on how many stages you want done, how much time is spent removing scratches. What type of top coat you want. I detail cars as a hobby and use a different brands products, and i.e a small jar of top coat (wax) can cost anything from $150 to $1500. Polishing out scratches as a stage 1 can take anything from 4-8 hours or even more, then there might be a stage 2 and 3, there may also be wetsanding involved. There is a guy in the UK called Paul Dalton who has a 65 step detailing that he charges more than $8000 for (no I did not ad a 0 by mistake). So to give a price you pretty much need to specify what you want. The price could be anything from $100 to $1000 or more. Any shop could say charge $200. Then whip out a polishing machine, a fine pad, the cheapest compound, run over your car in an hour and smear on the cheapest wax they have. And in 2 hours the car is done and looks good for a couple of weeks. Last edited by Noggie; 01-10-2015 at 06:50 PM.. |

you couldn't PAY me to let a bunch of "students" learn how to use buffing wheels and compound on my car, lol
Give me one older guy with many years of experience that loves his job and wants to take his time. |

you are aware that some of those older guys are the ones that put those classes on and they turn out cars that are near if not councouse d'elegance level shine check out autogeek specifically Mike Phillips as he does this and some of those cars are just jaw dropping before and come out award winning afterwards. Step by steps included there |

Price
Just surf the net for a full detail and you can have an idea. It all depends on what you want done / needs to be done. If you just want it to look good just call a friend or brother-in-law. It's a lot cheaper. I did one for a $70 bottle of tequila.
