Economy experiment 330d
I tried a little experiment today to see what could be achieved from my 330d MSport... and I'm pretty pleased with the results
Was in Eco Pro using cruise control where possible but it got too busy on the motorway about 20 miles from home to use it all the way. Had the A/C on all the time and journey was a 50:50 split of A roads and motorway. Avoided harsh acceleration and braking but otherwise kept to my normal driving habits. Even ended up using kick down to teach a shrivelled up woman in a polo a lesson after she flashed me for overtaking a lorry on the M4. Evidentially she found it inconsiderate of me to enter the middle lane which she was hogging. P.S sorry about the picture quality and dusty screen combo |

That's a target !! Which I guess will be difficult to better,
My best so far was 51.8mpg, in comfort mode on a 198 mile round trip from Glasgow to Arbroath and back, which isn't the best road/route for economical cruising, I was fairly happy with that given my early "poor" fuel consumption since picking the car up new,, So far, 1450 miles on the clock and overall average of 37mpg, which was boosted with said trip,,,, |

Yeh my overall average is still 42.1. My morning commute (12 miles) kills it, even though it's motorway door to door, because the engine only gets warm towards the end.

Thats impressive figures, my overall with 1k on clock on 330dxd is just under 40. this is driving in eco pro for a full tank and the next tank only on comfort with occ bursts of sport when felt like it.

Ive had 47 mpg out of mine sat at 80 on the m4. I would have to drive like miss daisy to get that. The majority of my cars driving is 2 miles on the school run and back from the wife's work. It doesn't get up to temp at all. I think I will get a petrol next time as my 250 mile trip back to see the parents will be halved. I'm still managing to rack up about 10000 miles a year at the moment.
