Z4M Intake??

Does anyone make a Z4M intake? I'm finding that all these parts are just way too expensive. So with that, i'm going back to my high school years, where an intake was our first modification.

Gruppe M? ACS? whoo and from where do I buy!!!!??

Gruppe M makes them and so do ACS but ACS is over $3,000 i think because it's basically a CSL Airbox retrofitted onto the M Coupe.
https://www.gruppem.co.jp/onlinestor...roducts_id=505

it lists for 92,000Y which is about $815 US... i might be able to arrange a group buy with my japanese connection if there were a lot of people interested... but yeah.

There is no company in germany/europe that makes a intake for the M/// - what about the states?

Ok, the japanese GruppeM looks good but is this the only aftermarket part for this car?

If the filter element on the z4m is the same as a regular 3 series you can use a super hybrid filter from HKS. I have one on and my revs felt great.

some people are already having problems removing just the secondary carbon filter in the intake tract. I wonder how much problems we can run into changing out the entire intake element and going aftermarket?

Who? I have read all the replies. I have never seen an instance where the removal threw a code. I have read where people reported surging power. That power surge equates to better throttle sensitivity to me.

I've run my car without the carbon filter for 3000 miles and it runs better without it--no question about it. I think that service bulletin that a member here posted has created a placebo effect. I have an M6 and with that car and this car, I noticed a noticable improvement in throttle response in BOTH cases. Both cars never ever threw a CEL.

To add... I'm doing the M3 CSL Alpha-n box. Kelleners seems to think they can get the software to work.

yeah, its the service bulletin and some people who reported surging that I was referring to. Anyhow, thanks for the input and reply. I think once my car goes in for the 1200 mile break in service, i'm going to try for myself and see what I think and decide from there.

Gruppe M is NOTHING like the ACS.

It just a CF shroud with a cone filter.
