F10 LCI M Sport Changes .. hope F30 is nice and subtle

The 5 Series M Sport LCI changes to the front and rear of the car are really minimal..

I hope this is the case with the F30, don't care if they change the light clusters or additional equipment just don't want much change to the Grilles or nose.

I expect they will add creases in the bonnet to match the F10. Front and rear lights will be changed slightly and LED's will probably feature in the rear lights.

And (sadly) I'll bet the LED bulbs will be totally incompatible with the pre-LCI F30

according to most the f30 lci will be on the MY 2016 cars so changes will appear on cars ordered around Sept 2015 onwards...

I just hope the changes are minimal and are just things like lights and not grilles or m sport bumpers changes

They wouldn't be bulbs, but completely new light units I expect. If they keep the shape the same they would probably be able to be retrofitted.

With the launch if the F30 in 2011, LCI would probably be released in late 2014 for MY2015 cars. It's usually after 3 years of launch of the model.

What are the differences between pre lci & lci F10's? I'm struggling to see the difference!

I was looking for an F10 originally, the big deal to me was standard Xenons and SatNav - I wonder if this will filter to the F30...

I doubt it as the lower spec 3 series is competition for Mondeos, insignias etc as rep mobiles, so BMW want to keeps it's base price as low as possible (and profit as high as possible) to keep it competitive.

The 5 series is only in competion with Audi A5 and Merc E Class really so has to compete on a luxury level.

I think that's the point isn't it? A Mondeo Ztec has Nav as standard - for around £20k. Nav is rapidly becoming the air conditioning of the 90's I think.

Of course the 5 competes with Audi A6 rather than A5, which would be the 3GT...? mmm interesting, I guess you can never has a direct comparison for all!

I mean for company car fleets, they have a limit on how much their car can cost so the reduction in price of not having things like sat nav and xenon could mean they can have a 3 series when otherwise they couldn't.

I meant A6, sorry it was a typo using my phone!

I know what i'd choose given the choice of a Highly specced Mondeo, or a basic 3 Series! Total no brainer for me!

I suspect LED fog lights will also appear on LCI. Seems the rage these days.

in similar vein to your 5 series point, the lci spec will need to be pitched against the new C Class and A4…both of which will no doubt have better standard kit than the current F30/F31. BMW will not want to loose sales to either merc or audi on their best selling car.
