Retro Fit Glovebox USB
Guy's, I'm looking to retro fit the glove box USB port in my 2008 330d.
I have the USB port in the arm rest but not the glove box, I'm assuming that the wiring to the hub is already in the loom, does anyone know if this is just a matter of fitting the port and local harness and is the wiring point already in place behind the glove box? Any help much appreciated. |

As far as I'm aware the glove box USB is only there to upload music or maps on the CIC Sat Nav - What year is your car and does it have CIC or CCC or any Sat Nav

No, none of the above, I only want the USB port for charging hence the question.
I want to avoid cigarette lighter USB adapters if possible and know that most manufacturers use a standard loom and just plug in the options. I'm hoping the same applies. Cheers |

Charging via the glove box USB it's inadvisable, it provides insufficient power & can damage components in the car, the e90 hand book warns against it.
