1988 BMW M3  [0.00]
1988 BMW M3  [0.00]
2012 BMW M3  [0.00]
1990 BMW M3  [0.00]
Have to sell one to keep the other two...1M, E92 M3, F82 M4

as it says
Our family would like to keep two out of the three
1M
E92 M3 (Euro Delivery Original Owner)
F82 M4 (deposit on waiting list)

I know the 1m is a car that will likely be hard to replace later down the road, but the e92 holds some sentimental value as it was our first ED car and it has always been ours. (Bought the 1m from a great guy with 6000 miles on it). I am waiting to be able to see the f82 M4 in person to make sure that I am in love with it before deciding to switch into something new.

Any opinions?
Thanks

My opinion would be get rid of your E92 as it will go down in value once M4 is out, plus 1M is hard to find so keep it for now.

On second thought, sell your 1M. To me specifically.

Keep the 1M, if you want you can always find an M3 later at any time, the only downside doing this IMO is that both 1M and F82 M4/M3 are pretty close, both being FI while the E9X is a high reving V8 with a different feel. The M235 is also just around the corner.

The M235i won't cure the ails that you list; it will feel like a 335i/435i.

Having M3 and M4 seems like an overkill. Too similar in size and etc.
I would rather have E92 M3 and 1M.

Down the road, I would replace M3 once I get bored with it with M4.
But....I don't think I would ride 1M when there's M3 and M4. So it gets confusing now.

Tough one. I say keep the 1M to have more variety. One small car, one bigger one. But the M3 is the last of the NA, so that is a very compelling reason to keep as well. In any case, you are left with 2 great cars!

Keep 1M and E92! Last N/A M3 and the only V8 M3 offered. The 1M is rare, so no brainer there. You may have 2 future prizes here. Whoever says mass produced cars wont become a future collectible isnt considering the Turbo Supra, also a mass produced car that is highly coveted. There is something special about both cars and the plus is that they are both different.

I guess money is not a criteria since everyone know the 1M hold value better than the other two. If you want variety dump the 1M since the M4 seem to be more like a better 1M but not at all like a better E92M. Very different engines and characters.

An E9X M3 will NEVER be a collectible, just like the E46 isn't a collectible. Far too many were made to render that a possibility.

Keep 1M and E92 M3. The 1M and M4 have close to the same engine and the E92 and M4 are similar is size and purpose. The 1M and E92 are also definitely the more special cars IMO. Newer isn't always better.

So you're saying an upgraded rack for the wife wouldn't be a better option despite having the same nipples?

Wow, I think that analogy needs work.

putting aside resale value and if it will be worth something in 40 years.

no matter what i would keep a E90 M. its the last of the n/a high revving motors. its a very special motor. even though the car is NOT that fast, its still fun car. reving to 8400RPM never gets old and will al ways sound great. at the end of day. they dont make motors like that anymore.

the 1m and M4 are to similar in they are both I6 BMW turbo engine. they will sound and feel like a turbo BMW engine. which is nothing bad. just pretty different than the E90. its good to have different cars.

The E9XM3 and 1M Coupe will most likely be future classics (the line between collectibe and classic is kind of fuzzy) and FWIW, MSN and Yahoo seem to agree. There are mass produced cars that became classics you know. When there are words '"last", "first" and "only" and also "rare" are involved with cars that invoked emotions, driving pleasure and performance, people will want them when no longer available. Just check out the 2JZ Turbo Supra and the E30 M3 prices...those smart folks new that had something special.
