Tyre leader

Has anyone used or heard of tyreleader.co.uk before? Seems they are based in the Netherlands but deliver to the UK regularly, was going to use Camskill but the price difference is quite substantial.

Never heard of them personally but you can't argue at their prices!! Would also be interested in hearing if anyone has used them.

bit of googling suggests they are cheap, but with next to no customer support if you have an issue.

its also worth noting that Camskill offer a price matching service, on the page of the tyres you want, under the stated price there is a red "price beater" button.

click that and provide a link to the tyres cheaper, and they will come back with an offer.

Camskill's customer service is excellent as well, so it might be worth giving that a shot for peace of mind.

I have used them.

Needed to replace a damaged winter tyre and they were the only people to have one in stock.

Ordered the tyre online - opted to have it delivered to a local tyre fitter. Paid for it and got an e-mail acknowledging the order.

Heard nothing more (which was a bit unnerving) - but phoned the nominated tyre fitter a couple of days later and it had turned up so was able to get it fitted that day.

So maybe not going big on customer service - but it was cheap and it worked okay for me.

It's a quite recent Chinese company, with its company office in Mauritius. If you read some of their blurb you'd be glad they didn't reply to your email - English isn't their strongest suit.

Mind you, it's better than my Cantonese.

Thanks, tried that but they don't match non uk companies which is fair enough.

Thanks, glad someone on here has used them, I suppose if I order using a credit card I'm insured no matter what?

I suppose credit card payments would offer some security but not sure how much.

There seem to be a few reviews of this company here: http://www.trustpilot.co.uk/review/tyreleader.co.uk

Never used them myself but the price difference is quite a bit maybe worth a go..?

A few other forums have mentioned a company called Funky tyres.

They don't have a website, but can be found on forums and Facebook.

I believe they ship out of bases in Scotland and England.

The prices I've seen so far are 10-15% less than Camskill

I used them when I bought my winter tyres a few months back (not that I've needed them yet....).

They were a good £30 or so cheaper than anywhere else and they were delivered nice and quick. As somebody else said, they don't email you a conformation which is a bit unnerving but other than that they were fine

So I have just ordered from them, Goodyear F1 Asymmetric 2 all round sizes:

235/35/19
265/30/19

Not bad for £597, now to see if they arrive :S will keep this post updated.

I was thinking of the same tyres if I can convince myself to buy a set of 19" rims.
Hope the order goes through with no issues.

That's cheap. Did you size up through choice or cost?

I ordered the factory sizes from Camskill last year and they cost £700.

Really good tyres. I've been very impressed with how they behave in all conditions.

Up sized due to recommendation of many people on this forum, don't think there was a noticeable cost difference, did you change from the Bridgestone RFT? I'm hoping these are better!

I changed from Bridgestone runflats to Pirelli runflats and they were better. They went to the Goodyears and the car was much better.

The car is smoother and far more composed.

I hated the runflats on rough roads. Not only because of the ride, it just seemed if you went over a slight hole in the road the car would drop off it with zero grip. It felt like the car was off the ground and the car was very nervous.

Noise levels will drop significantly.

Grip levels will increase massively. You will feel the steering a little softer though.

A very worthwhile change in my opinion.

Just stock up with tyre glue and a compressor.

So just to update the thread my tyres turned up! For some reason they sent them In two shipments which was irritating as DPD delivered quickly and efficiently whereas parcel farce took 6 days longer! Not tyreleaders fault though I suppose. For the price I can recommend tyre leader now

Just to add that I would also recommend them. Bought 2 dunlops for our merc as they were by far the cheapest price I could find. Ordered last Tuesday evening and they were here by midday on Friday. Tracking info was provided via email and overall am happy with the service. Cost me £12 a tyre on top to be fitted but still cheapest around.

Will definitely use them again when I get some michelins for my 320ed.
