Newbie intro and F30 330D on order!
Hi all,
As a newbie, I thought I would introduce myself. Firstly - thank you for all the information, guidance and opinion around the F30 on the site, its an amazing resource for like minded BMW F3X radicals. The research I undertook was paramount to my selection of engine, colour and options, I placed my order on December 20th! So much so, and I'm not alone in this - I haven't test driven one. I've history with an E36 and then an E46 (EB with SMG)....before stepping to Audi A4 Sline, Merc (C320 and CLK350) then a 911 C4S 996. The F30 will give me the best possible combination of performance and economy, reliability, gadgets and of course, a beautiful looking motor on those M Style 403's! Estimated delivery is early-ish March On order: F30 330D MSport in MG Prof Media M Sport Plus Pack Adaptive Suspension Electric and heated f/ Seats Heated Steering wheel Active Cruise Control with Stop and Go HUD High Beam Assistant Alu Hex and Black Trim It looked amazing in the build on the BMW website, a special mention of thanks to Rich1068 who's photos convinced me MG was the way! I felt compelled to also highlight all the recent deliveries and resulting pictures, awesome. The 330 will sit next to the family F25/X3 M Sport in Space Grey! I am delighted to be part of the forum. Welcome and great spec. I see you have the msport plus + pack and hba but you would be better going for the vis pack unless you already have. This comes with adaptive too and probably cost you £50 more!

I see you've owned a great series of cars, but were you blown away by the Golf's VR6's that you enlisted it in your forum's name? excuse me if I am wrong.. |

Yes, sorry I should have put M Sport plus in conjunction with viz pack. After seeing the video/demos and reading the comments....the added cost was easily justified! |

Great spec! Similar to my own...
As mentioned above, I'd consider the visibility pack. It isn't much more, as you already have Xenons from M+ pack. I drive a lot at night and it was my first option added. Edit, I type too slow. Just seen you've said you already have it as I typed. There seems to be a few Mineral Grey cars on order now and recently delivered. Can't say I've seen many on the road though. Welcome to the forum and the excruciating wait.

Great spot. Yes, it drove a little top heavy but made a great sound, highline 1996 p reg in silver with the bbs wheels. Before that I had a number of other golfs (3x mkii gtis) and my first car, a Golf driver which I swapped for a 205 gti in red, 1.6 before understanding how unreliable they were and went back the VWs. The insurance was almost as much as the car

I was late ordering HUD and as I'd originally spec'd PIano Black until I thought of adding the carbon fibre trim at a later stage - I had to cancel and re order with Alu hex and black adding HUD just before cut off on Dec 20th. I've HUD in the family wagon, once I found out how much more info was available with pro nav I needed HUD!

Cheers. Never had a heated steering wheel, had a "feel" of one in a friends RR, it happened to be a cold morning so went on my nice to have list. Bit of a luxury though, probably use twice a year only!

Seem to use mine loads (whilst I still have one), becomes instinct to switch it on these chilly mornings!

Usually switch them off after around half an hour though. Just enough heat to take out the chill. |
