Dealers around Manchester

Hi everyone. Not sure how many members are around the greater manchester area. I would be interested in hearing peoples experiences of dealers. I have never bought a car from a dealer before. Would like to know peoples experience of bmw dealers in and around Manchester. Recommendations as well as dealers to avoid. Someone mentioned bowkers of Blackburn as being quite good sorry I can't remember who it was.

Don't know about Manchester but both Bowkers in Preston and Blackburn are both excellent. Are you buying new or used?

I bought from Williams Bolton.

They've been fine in my dealings.

My car has been in dealership since it broke down over a month ago (waiting for part from germany, so not dealer's fault) and they've been very efficient in first sorting a hire car for me and now an actual BMW loaner.

Buying from them was fine, no issues to speak of.

We bought our Z4 from Blue Bell in Wilmslow (is that greater manchester?)... we found them to be helpful and courteous, and we got a good deal from them. That was used though, so can't comment on the new car sales.

We've had no issues so not had any experience of the after-sales service either.

Duncan at Lloyds of Colne. Utterly brilliant and I would recommend him in an instant. Top discount and really looks after you.

If buying new just go for the biggest discount. Dealer experiences are totally dependent on which staff you meet, somewhere might be excellent for one person but you might meet their tit of the year salesman.

Another vote for Blue Bell Wilmslow, had a very good buying experience there.

Thanks for all the suggestions. As it's going to be first new car I want to have a good experience so won't mind travelling a bit. I'm even considering giving TRL an email even tho he is down in London

I purchase a lot of cars for a leading company so have used a number of different dealers the best BMW dealer I have come across is Gary Beard at Sandal BMW - Wakefield.
