M Sport - seat slated by member
When you order a car, you feverishly seek reassurance from posts that you've done the right thing to make you feel good(clever!).
So I went for M sport to get the sports seats which the motoring press had almost universally praised - and said definitely go for them. I can't remember where I saw it in the number of new arrivals giving feedback but someone was extremely critical of the sports seats in the last 7 days. Come on M sport drivers make me feel better !! Are the seats so bad? |

I've got the standard (manual) M Sport seats in black leather and love them. You can adjust the thigh support and vary the side grip depending on how you feel on the day. I find the standard lumber support fine, though this is an area where some have felt that extra was useful.
In short - I can't see you being disappointed really.

Sport seats are the same in sport model and m sport, I can backup they are great.
Worth speccing the lumber if you havent, makes a real difference if you have back pain, and means you can adjust back pressure up and down, as well as the standard sport adjustments of side pressure in and out, and thigh support forwards and backwards making for a very adjustable seat |

I have electric MSport seats with lumbar, heating and memory. can't fault them!
I've done a 450 mile drive without any complaints. Lots of support, adjustment and space. The headrest are softer than on the E90 too! I know some moan about the leather, but given it's standard now I am happy with it. Yes, the upgraded leather is lovely, but for a practical, everyday family car I find the Dakota leather absolutely fine. |

I think the majority of people (like - 90%+) are very happy with M Sport seats so statistically, I'm sure you'll be fine.
I struggle with my back with mine - but thats just me - not the seats. My missus has no problem with them.

Whilst I'm happy with the standard sports seats, being able to adjust lumber on my Mk5 GTI during a journey was useful.

No problems with M Sport Seats here, I have the electric everything version. One thing to maybe note is the side supports on my last car (E92 M Sport) started to wear out a bit from getting in/out so have been trying to avoid scraping these when getting in/out of this car. Was going to use the 2 memory buttons as a method to put the seat further back and raised upwards when parked up to aid this (ie button 1 is the driving position and button 2 is the parked position).

M Sport seats are supremely comfortable especially with the Lumbar Support option. What I don't like is fully leather covered seats. I far prefer cloth or at a push cloth base/back and leather sides.

I love the seats in my Sport. Once you get the position right they are the most comfortable seats I have had in any car.
I hate it if anybody moves my seat as it takes about two weeks of constant fiddling to get it right again |

They're not the most comfortable to get in and out.. I feel like I am sliding or brushing against the thigh support every time I am getting out the car, especially when parked in tight areas.. got a bad feeling its going to wear eventually

Always has been as far as I can remember! This is the first one I have with one (I Specced it myself).. I will never buy another car without the lumbar support.. |

Of course both seats... Imagine being nasty and ordering, driver seat as electric and leaving passenger as manual? Better than paying for something twice? Everything comes in pairs mate.

Having now done 500 miles in my loan 320i with standard seats, I CANNOT WAIT to get back in my car as it is way way more comfortable. Standard seats have so little support in comparison and I do like my lumber support.

Has anybody got any good tips for adjustment?
I am 6ft 3 and have l long legs, but cannot seem to find a good position is it best to have the seat low (i.e. close to the floor)_ and adjust from there are higher up? The E92 coupe i have was almost like you where laying down i suspect trying to set the saloon up like this is maybe where i am going wrong. NOTE: i don't have the electric seats (wish i had spent the 1K as my E92 had them) |

I'm starting to feel better thanks. After taking notice of forum members I did go for electric memory seats cos my wife and I do 7,000 miles each in our 14,000 a year.
