Colour choice
So I am still deciding on which paint job to go on my m sport f30 drive while I finalise my deal.
The 3 colours I have in mind is eb2, mineral grey or silver. Also it will be between black or the beige leather inside. Do people have images of these colours for the m sport variant? |

EBII and silver with black leather
Grey with the beige leather I would have done grey and beige but had a graphite grey before this one so went with silver and black. All lovely colours, no wrong choice but get the trim right. M sport hex alu and black trim. |

I looked out of the window at work today in a wet and grey Manchester, surveying the cars parked below. It was a sea of dark greys, dark blues and blacks with the exception of my gleaming EBII bringing a little splash of joy to the scene
I think you know my suggestion I'm not brave enough for coral red though...

This thread alone demonstrates how common EBII is
Black with Coral Red. Standard. Message ends.

Way more common on this thread than in real life :-)
EBII is the one to pick, too many dark BMWs in the world, dull as. The average owner/leaser will go for black/grey exterior. Coral Red seats for extreme extroverts/those that prefer the 'tart's boudoir' look :-) Last edited by sahajesh; 01-08-2014 at 06:56 PM.. |

EB and Alpine White are by a long stretch the most common colours for F30/F31 in my part of the world (Cheshire/Staffordshire).
You see hardly any in Silver and IMO they look stunning in M-Sport trim. Silver was my first choice, followed by MG which i ended up with......... All car interiors should be black. |

there is a reason you don't see silver (NOTE: IMO ONLY)
I am in the Manchester area and have EBII was going for white but every car round here is either White (being most popular by a long way) or Black and normally a de-badged 318d . to date i have yet to see another EBII and i drive around the M58/M6/M62 every day. I love MG but after a lot of people telling me it was a very old man colour (i.e. boring) i went for EB II (NOTE: not my words). this was confirmed by asked several grumpy old men in my office which colour they would have Orange is the best i have seen so far but i am guessing it cost ££££ Last edited by Xplosiv166; 01-08-2014 at 07:18 PM.. |

The reality is when us men reach about 25 we suddenly loose all sense of reality and instantly know nothing about what looks good, especially when it comes to colour.
Your best colour choice is the one your wife/girlfriend or gay friend/partner likes. My wife and no women I've ever been out with have ever liked blue cars???? |

Average I think it's a common misconception that black is dull - a well maintained black car gleams much more than any silver/grey/white. Now a black interior, that IS dull (and I've had plenty of them). ...and don't be dis-in' my tart! An extrovert shows off his extremes (read EBII), others are more sophisticated on the INSIDE (read coral red)!!!

I think that this subject, more than any other one (Sdrive v xdrive, diesel v petrol, manula v auto) is totally subjective.
Just go with whatever floats your boat the most... none of us will be driving your car, or living your life. There are downsides and upsides with each option, just be aware of them... Black - nice when clean and polished, but not always easy to keep that way, shows swirls and scratches the most EBII - looks great, but a perhaps a little common for the model White - looks cool, but it's a solid paint so doesn't reward a good polish as well as a metallic or dark colour, and shows dirt easily Grey - Its dark, and boring unless on an MSport with nice big wheels Red - not common but really suits the MSport look. under-rated I think Individual - seem to look a lot better in flesh, much less common... but cost extra Dark interiors - always look good, but a bit dark and gloomy if no sunroof, esp with tinted rear windows. Goes well with almost every colour Lighter interiors - some really great combos but some find requires more effort to keep clean. Can look a little "old man", especially if chosen with wood effect trims... Nothing wrong with that, if that's what you like of course. |

Exactly @tengocity and others - very subjective and everyone has their own opinion.
Like asking what colour carpet should I have in my house, will get a million answers |

Tengocity has pretty much said it all, but from my personal opinion I love Estoril Blue. I had it as an Individual colour on my E46 M3 and now I have it on my F31. It can really vary in different lights, from a pale pastel colour to a vibrant bright colour, but never looks dull and it has great depth to it. It is also reasonably practical.
Whether it is common (I have yet to see another EBII but seen plenty of white and black ) maybe because it is an MSport only option or it may just be because it is a nice colour, but personally I don't really give a flying fig about what others think as I love the colour. As an aside my wife has a blue car
