If you like the job that the BMW washer fluid does, go to BMW and get the washer fluid.

It was $7 for me to get washer fluid and it is a concentrated mixture. I think all it takes is half the bottle of BMW fluid, then top off with water. If I remember correctly, I used 4 bottles of Publix Purified Water and half of the bottle of BMW fluid.

Go to the parts department and ask them for the correct mixture. It is also printed on the label of the bottle.

I was about to say, but this has to be the least thing on this car that I use. But looking back, I do use it especially on long trip in the southern hemisphere where there are dragon flies, loves bugs, and all sort of insects.

Windshield washer fluid can be bought at any discount auto store, or even a Walmart. The concentrations are about the same.

When I get the low-fluid indication, I just grab a gallon of whatever blue stuff they have at the gas station the next time I stop. Do gas stations not sell washer fluid in California?

IDK what it is, but the BMW fluid seems to "cut" the stuff off of my windshield a lot better than just the "mystery" blue fluid they sell at gas stations. For all I know it is watered down Windex.

I agree with the "OEM" washer fluid doing a better job. (if there is such a thing as OEM fluid) I got my BMW from Bellevue BMW in Wa state and the stuff they had seemed to have more of a nice scent combined with a lot of alcohol to allow it to degrease the windshield and dry faster. I also had an Audi A4 and it seemed to have some better type of fluid than what you get at the stores too. I figured, as with all the German vehicles, that even the washer fluid they used was way ahead of the rest. I use the orange rain-x here in Fl now but will try my local BMW to see what they use when it comes time for more fluid just to see the difference.

I've been told BMW uses the same stuff Porsche uses. It's plain $1 a jug fluid with P21S windshield cleaner additive added.

I had frost on the windshield this weekend, and was very surprised how quickly the BMW fluid cut through and didn't ice up. Shoulda guessed they'd have special fluid. Guess I'll stock up.
