"Hack" idea ... single POI category

I'm still months from getting my car (April ED!) but I had an idea, based on the post about the guy who added speed cameras to his map, and made them a separate category in order to use the icon.

Maybe it would be possible to make all POIs under a single category, such as "All" or "AAAAAA" (to make sure it's at the top of the POI list). Then you would just search for the name and find it! Of course, you lose the icon ability, but there are always tradeoffs, I guess....

It is possible and it's almost come to fruition.. I guess.

Actually, it doesn't have to be 'AAAAAA' to be on top of everything. You can change its order by modifying ENG.LSC file in the DVD.

if you meant by multiple categories of POIs on the map simultaneously, no it can't be done by just hacking 'data' written on DVD. It's more like the software problem which runs with the data written on DVD.

Take a look at 'ENG.LSC' file. It's just not meant to be.
