Interior trim vinyl wrap quote
Just got a quote from a local shop for wrapping all my interior trim pieces with matte, CF wrap. I will remove them all and drop them off at the shop to reduce labor costs.
They quoted me for $380... Is this a good price? |

No.
Post on regional forum and see if a local member can help you. Order a 4x5 ft piece from eBay it'll be like $30 in whatever film you want You can do the door pieces yourself they aren't hard and the center shifter piece the dash maybe the only tricky piece because of the 3d shape and corners to get perfect.

Call Mike from Carbon Underground 954.254.0253 he has wrapped more bimmers than anyone. He did a few of my cars, I believe the cost was $300 and he uses only the best 3m vinyl and I never had any issues.

takes two hours and material is $50... you can do it with an exacto knife, some patience and a hair dryer.

Yep, and it takes someone experienced even less. That shop is trying to bill $350 an hour for labor.

I searched eBay but there are a TON of suppliers of CF vinyl and of course, they all claim to be the best. Anyone has a link (eBay, Amazon, etc) with the CF vinyl you guys would recommend? I do NOT want a glossy one. Matte definitely preferred. Thanks for the help! |

DIY. Buy plenty material and get a shot of a heat gun or hair dryer. It takes a few attempts but once u get the hang of it it's not that difficult. Considering the size of the parts u want to wrap it is definitely do able

Seeing some of the prices shops are quoting people is absurd. Vinyl DIY are not very difficult. Just be cautious with some eBay sellers. Alot of vinyl on eBay is extremely old, which is why the vinyl is cheaper than you would usually see.

I did mine myself and whilst at first it seems impossible to sort the corners out, just lots of heat and patience and you can do it.
There are plenty of DIY guides about. I would just say get more vinyl than you need and use a few bits getting used to how much you can stretch the vinyl and how to do the ends on the dash trim. A few practice runs and you'll get it spot on. |
