Exterior light bulb warning

Hi All,

New member and to Beemers, got a 07 320M sport coupe and 2 weeks in the warning light comes up, but there are no light bulbs dead. Took it in to Halfords and all bulbs work. Is this common? Next stop Synter BMW
Any ideas?

Cheers,
Dylan

Very common, make sure to clean the connections. Sometimes if it's corroded/dirty it will trigger the light. It's all based on resistance so anything out of what it expects will trigger the warning even if all bulbs work.

Also check the rear brake light bulbs. There Are two in each lamp that illuminate when the brakes are pressed. So you may have one of the bulbs out, but the other bulb will still illuminate the brake light, making it look like no bulbs are out!

Thanks guys for the replies, I've checked the connections, took covers out from boot and had a look, all bulbs are clear and work.
Might be LED's gone wrong or one of the many exterior bulbs.
Will take it in to BMW anyways.

You can find out which bulb is giving the warning. In vehicle check on the speedo head it will show bulb failure. When this is illuminated press in the end of the indicator stalk for a few seconds till it shows a code
CD ID then a number, If you search on this forum for the codes it will identify the problem bulb. One of the areas on an E92 is the Brake Force Display which will only illuminate on activation of the ABS. Hope this helps.

I wouldnt take the car to bmw for something like that. I couldn't think of anything worse than having my pants pulled down over a simple bulb.
