Just hear me out folks- I love my HPB LED kit as it stands in pure white to match the door handles and puddle lights.
That said, in my E92 loaner, I do somewhat miss the soft warm glow of the incandescent bulbs just a BIT. Yes, sure, I could put the OEM bulbs back in, but I'm looking for the intensity that the LEDs in my current set offer, but with that softer glow that OEM bulbs provide. I know that HPB offers an amber, blue, and red set as well, but curious as to the possibilities of capturing that soft white glow of the OEM color spectrum. Have any of you ordered the other colors offered by HPB, and if so, are any of you local, and could I possibly see them in person? I'm particularly interested in the amber. Thanks and happy 2014 to all! |

Glad to see I'm not the only one with this interest! I've been exchanging messages with TGP and HPB on their custom E90 LED kit, exploring the potential to assemble a kit with OEM-like color temperature.
For anyone who's spent time inside a newer BMW like the F30, you'll notice its interior lighting is LED-based but the color temp is more neutral and natural-looking, not intense white or bluish/white like most 6000K LED kits offer. I may have to source my own emitters but will see what HPB has to say about it. I haven't seen their kit in the flesh but they do offer a "stock-brightness" version that I believe is build with 6000K emitters. |

I too would be interested in such a thing--it may have to be a custom job. There's not a lot of demand for that color, as far as I can tell. At least, not in the volumes required to get the pricing to a point where vendors can sell it.
I'll look in to some options for you. |

Wow you guys are amazing... Not that I mind the bright white LED, as it does match my angel my license plate lights and my under door lights... But as I get older I find I want to more mellow ambiance these days

I just swapped out the puddle lights on the bottom of the door and the footwell lights with LEDs and kept the rest stock. You get the brightness of the LED when getting in and out of the car but if you are using the overhead lighting while driving it is not as harsh. I don't think having just the LEDs by your feet clash with the other lights either when getting in and out of the car. Its almost a half and half, lower half LED upper normal.

I did the exact same and am mostly pleased with the results but feel I could get a better look with natural-white emitters in the overhead fixtures. Once I find a bin that I'm happy with, the idea is to replace all bulbs inside the car. |

I had to use a filter on my phone to get it to look correct and this is the best I got. It is not exactly how it looks in person but it gives you the right idea
I think it will look even better in the summer with the carpet mats in |
