Downgrading, best way Forward. LMB 320D Msport Coupe
Can anybody help, I am in a bad situation that I have to sell my pride and joy of a 2010 Le Mans Blue 320D Mpsort Coupe Auto with 25k on the clock, FSH and Service inclusive pack until 2015. Due to the bitch of my wife cheating on me, need to get some money back out of the car and try and back trade or sell private? anybody had any views or experience on this to get best outcome, going to upset me seeing this car going as totally mint and detailed all the time etc.

Sorry to hear that but BMW buy cars like this for their AUC scheme, might be worth seeing if they'd be interested if you get desperate

don't go to the stealers mate, they'll f**k u over, they'll offer silly trade prices which would be well below market price unless u r part exchanging for another of their cars.
Private sale is the best way forward I reckon, but it's the wrong time to be selling cars so u'll have to be patient unfortunately.. Sorry for what's happened to you mate, ur car is a stunner, the best colour of the lot, the most popular engine type too, it will sell at the right price, if you are patient..

lovely looking car nice colour and wheels. sympathy with you. just a thought could you not "sell" the car to a friend at a sensible price and buy it back later when you've sorted her indoors out? my experience is cars even really nice genuine ones don't sell that quickly and often not for what youd hope they are worth. if you try westeal sorry buyany cars .com it will give you an idea of what a dealer will offer but probably + £1000.

Btw you can also trade to a dealer for a cheaper car too and get a cash payment in return
Obviously you lose out twice (trade in value on yours and forecourt price of downgrade) |

If it was her cheating Id tell her to do one with nothing!
Sod selling your pride and joy if you've done nothing wrong yourself. At worst, tell her she'll get something when you are ready, not when it suits her! |

Have you thought about a 1 series. I had a 2008 E87 118d msport remapped to 185 bhp. £30 to tax 55 mpg, rear wheel drive and was like shit off a shovel when you put your foot down
And they can look nice with some little mods

Even when she is in the wrong and believe me she is big time, the divorce process is that legally she is entitled to 50% of everything including all assets and that means my pride and joy, so not fair!! even half my pension!

If only it was that easy. The court will just seize the car back, you can't sell assests through the divorce proceedings unless it's to sell to split.
All assets before married can be kept, split what is accumulated during wedding. (Although your need a good divorce lawyer and prove to do this) my sister is a divorce lawyer and keeps me informed. OP sorry to hear about this, we all have rough times, makes you stronger and your bounce back bigger and better. Last edited by Drrncour; 01-02-2014 at 06:44 AM.. |

If she's agreeing she's in the wrong and doesn't want half of the car, there is nothing stopping her from putting down on paper that she doesn't want it.
There is nothing to say that you MUST give her half unless thats what she goes for |

Why should she be entitled to half when she broke the contract of marriage by cheating on you?
If you cheated on her, i would understand that she would be entitled to everything in the divorce that she would have probably filed for. If you had both decided to get divorced then you would probably be inclined to give her half anyway... BUT if she cheats, she definitely does not deserve half of anything!!! Obviously there could be more to it, but at the end of the day if you believe you were in a successful marriage and you have no understanding of why she cheated other than that she wanted to... then she shouldn't really deserve half! Do you get half of all the shit you have bought her over the years? Bags, shoes, clothes etc...? Last edited by Josh1a1h; 01-02-2014 at 11:21 AM.. |

Such a beautiful car and shite situation mate! I tried to sell my car to BMW auc but they are a major rip off as the guy told me they always want a 3k margin. So if you want the most for your money then go private although its a really bad time to at the moment.

Trying to downgrade at a dealers is just pissing money away. Can you not just get it fairly valued, get a loan for half of that and give it to her as a cash settlement? That should result in the least loss to you and you get to keep the car.
