Lsd for e92 328i coupe?

Is there any companies on the market making lsd's for e92 328's or just 335's?

it should be the same rear end... at that, the 328 isn't really putting down enough power to warrant an LSD, in my opinion... i'd just get a really nice suspension. like some JRZ's.

LSD will work well on any car regardless of power. If you're gonna do that, you should also change the gear ratio to put more torque down sooner. It's all within the diff so do both and you'll feel a world of a difference.

an LSD will obviously matter and benefit any car but on a car like a 328 where torque really ins't in dire need of being reigned in, a good suspension would prove far more beneficial. and LSD installed in nearly $3,000. you can get an INSANE suspension for $3,000. or a REALLY good suspension and new tires for $3,000... and the end user will notice that far more on a daily basis than an LSD. trust me, every car i have ever owned with 1 exception has had an LSD.

also.. i just checked the part numbers and they are not the same rear end.... so, i am not sure if a 335i LSD unit would fit inside a 328i Diff housing, but the ENTIRE Diff housing should be able to swap because the half shafts and drive shaft are the same lengths and they have the same mounting points on both cars so if you were entirely set on installing in LSD, you best bet would be to go custom like Diffsonline.com or completely swap an entire 335i housing with LSD installed.

You should contact a guy called Kevin Bird in England. He is the guy who pushed Quaife into developing all the different LSDs available for current BMWs and for sure there's a Quaife LSD available specifically for the 328, possibly with the option of a different final drive ratio as well to improve the acceleration. He knows everything there is to know about LSDs, and if he doesn't think it's a worthwhile thing for your car, he'll tell you. A friend of mine went to him to buy a LSD for his 325i - Kevin said it wasn't worth it and he should save his money, or spend it on a set of anti-roll bars instead. He's honest, and helpful. (And no, I don't work for him... I'm a restauranteur)

The thing with the LSD is that it's not all that noticeable in everyday driving, unless you have a very bumpy road, or its greasy and there're leaves etc on the roads, in which case you'll notice it loads as the traction control light stays off!! I have a 335i and coming out of a wet road strewn with leaves, my car was wheelspinning all the way in second gear. Did the same thing on a different road but similar conditions, first gear and floored it out from the side road - no wheelspin, just traction and acceleration.

Kevin ships out to you guys in the States, or he may already have a distributor out there who can help you directly. Oh, and the LSD is only around the $1800 mark for the part only... don't know how much your local garage will charge for fitting.

well then you will really like the one from Turner because the stock LSD on Z's are absolute garbage... but keep in mind if you get the one from turner, it's about $2000 plus about $800 for complete installation and depending on the shop at least 2 days down time.... if it were me, i'd still do it because i won't even buy a car without an LSD... but the high cost is definitely a factor.
